Temperature for fleece sleepers?

It just got cold in MKE. Our apt so far has been pretty warm. At night we plan to keep it 66-67 degrees. Asha is going on 15 months and sleeps with us. She tends to kick off blankets. Would you put her in a fleece sleeper or a cotton one? Do I still need to worry about her overheating? Also, i got her 24 month sleepers since she is tall but the seem baggy on her - is that ok or could she get wrapped up in them while turning?

Re: Temperature for fleece sleepers?

  • I worried less about most SIDS stuff by that age, but we pretty much never used fleece sleepers for Toodle other than a handful of times before he slept with us. We just do long sleeved/pants cotton. He never used a blanket either, but I was always anxious about him overheating. Not sure about the fit, Toodle's usually fit well so not sure if I'd worry or not.

  • I only use fleece sleepers for extreme cold (like a low below 10 degrees). It is getting down into the upper 20's here at night. Hayden is in long sleeve/long pant cotton pj's with a warm blanket. Also no you dont need to worry about them being a little big, she will be fine.f

  • So should I not be putting DS in a fleece sleeper with a cotton sleep sack (it's thin)?  It's not super cold here, but I wear pants and a shirt to bed and have a warm blanket on my bed.  DS sleeps in his crib, not with us, if that matters.

  • If his head is not sweating when he sleeps I think he's fine. My DD usually sleeps in a fleece footed PJ even in summer. (we're in California). Unless it's really warm in he house. Inside temp is usually 69-72 even in summer because we leave the air on sometimes. She sleeps in our room, but in her own crib with no blanket. I've noticed that if I try putting her in a cotton sleeper, especially a footless one, she'll wake multiple times during the night. I think it's from being colder than she's used to.

  • My little guy is in his crib and the temperature is set at 69.  We put him in tight fitting cotton PJs and then fleece pajamas over that.  He is just the right temperature in that.
