My guess is it's a weird spelling translation from Farsii. My dad is Iranian and my mn is Mariam, which is a fairly common name in Iran. This is probably another spelling of it that looks weird after translation. Remember Farsii isn't written with roman letters.
All the same, in English letters, it looks awkward and weird. Not a fan.
I grew up with a Maryam who is Persian. The beginning is not pronounced like Miriam but the end is if that makes any sense. I only have good associations with this name because she is a beautiful and genuinely great person.

I know a Persian Maryam, too. She pronounces it MAHR-i-AHM. Beautiful name but I'd probably go with Miriam, being that I'm not Persian.

This. I love Miriam.
Same here. The Maryam I know is also Persian.

Hmm, yeah, I like Miriam better.
This reminds me of Majoram, the spice. This isn't a bad name, but I feel like people would spell it wrong a lot, or confuse it with Marian or Miriam.
