Question re: GMD sizing

This is probably a newbie question, but here it goes...

J. is 14 months and about 22 1/2 lbs. Our primary PFs are GMD yellow edge. We just trifold them and lay them in the cover. If we wanted to snappi, we would definitely need the next size.

Anyway, I've been thinking about trying the workhorse fitteds, and definitely will if I can snag some seconds. But would you get the red edge or brown edge for him? There site says the red fits until about 24 lbs, while brown starts at around 23 lbs.

But it also says the yellow edge PFs fit until about 15 lbs. or 5 months, and we are clearly long past that.

So what say you, expert CDers? Red or brown edge? Or some of both?

I would recommend trying a couple of both, probably more brown than red. My LO is 20 lbs and the red prefolds can barely be snappi'd. If the red are too small, you can always use them for the next baby.

I would recommend the larger size, and maybe getting it with no snaps. I have the red edge and they barely fit my baby. He is 4 mos but 17lbs and 27 inches. He has a really long torso and the red edge barely cover his butt crack, but the snaps are on the second tightest setting. I wish I would have gotten them without snaps for a more custom fit, because mine are seconds and the elastic is not very tight on some of them. He has chunky thighs, but I still wouldn't trust them for a major poop.
