I seriously am so mad I'm about in tears.
I just check the bank account and there were several large charges from where DH is stationed for training to get ready for deployment. I was able to talk to him about them and he's had to replace several things because they can't exchange them like they normally would because they aren't in Ohio. Really, you're on an Army base and they don't have things you issue to soldiers?! He spent over $200 on things that would have just been exchanged had he been at home.
The worst was the $90 charge that he says is for water. Apperently they are under a boil alert. Which means they have to supply their own water. And its not like the mess hall is too busy to boil a bunch of water. Nope, they can't cook so DH has to pay for his food each night too. This is expected to last at least 4 days.
Its not like this puts us in a financial hardship or anything. And he probably paid for water for guys that couldn't afford it. I just think its BS that he's spend $300 on things that he shouldn't have had to. And neither of us can do anything about this. If we do, it will come back and mean a reprimand for him. I'm probably over reacting, but this unit has me pulling out my hair (they don't communicate well and generally treat a lot of the soldiers like crap). I hate the fact that this is what I have to deal with during a deployment.
