Any formula WITHOUT iron?

DS seemed to be ok on Enfamil Lipil with iron but we made the switch to generic brand enfamil with iron and he's been having a hard time, well, pooing.  We figured it was the iron, since let's face it, that can make a person constipated. lol.  Of course everywhere we looked we saw "with iron" on all the formulas.  If he doesn't poop by tomorrow morning, we're calling the pedi.  Poor little thing.  He had a little bunny poop size, um, poop in his diaper this morning, but it was hard.  He hasn't been too fussy, but still.  Are there any tricks to make him go?

Iron is key and lack of it can cause major issues in an infant hence iron in everything. 2T of table sugar in 2oz of the warmest water you think he can stand will get a good non-cramping poo in under an hour sans the runs. My older Mommy friend taught me that trick.

Haha, leave it to me to be completely oblivious to the fact that iron "does the body good".  Oh well, thanks for the tip though.  I'll have to give it a try.

My oldest had the same problems along with projectile vomitting so we switched to Enfamil LIPIL Gentlease and that help with constipation, but we ended up using Enfamil LIPIL A.R. and that helped with both issues.  GL  I know it is frustrating, but it will get better!

whoah.. before you give anything by mouth I would try a glycerin suppository first.

Ok, color me stupid but where do you get and what is a glycerin suppository?

I had the same problem....I was able to find a low iron formula made by similac.  I alternate this with an iron fort formula.  The low iron formula is hard to come by.

My DS is on Enfamil AR for his reflux/projectile vomiting which helps but sadly is very constipating. Per his pedi- he gets 1 oz of gerber baby prune/apple juice in 1 of his bottles every day. Sometimes I think he is going fine and doesnt need it anymore, and 2 days later he is back to the little hard poops.
