Anyone with 26 day cycles?

Ok, just need some opinions here as I keep running different scenarios thru my head.  We have been trying for over a year (I had some issues that have now been treated) so I'm kind of obsessive about TTC.  I typically have 26 day cycles and this month we had sex on day 12 (Tues AM), day 10 and day 8.  With a 26 day cycle I should have ovulated on day 12 (Tues) or 13 (yesterday).  Problem is DH started getting sick yesterday (day 13) and went to the Dr today (my day 14) and has pneumonia so we will postpone our baby making until next month if not successful.  Anyway I just wanted get some feedback to see if anyone else has a 26 day cycle and if it?s likely we were successful?   I pray our Tuesday morning try was successful even if I ovulated yesterday.  I?ve read a million things online? just kind of wanted some reassurance.

Semen can live a few days, so even if you ovulated later it may still be successful. Good luck!

You can't really know when you ovulated based on how long your cycle is.  I would start temping and using OPKs to know really when you ovulate and then plan around that.

Ok, wait, why do you say "I should have ovulated on day 12".  Why?  Are you charting or using OPK's?  It sounds to me like your problem might be that you are basing your O on a rough formula instead of an actual science.  If you are not certain of when you are ovulating there are several issues that could be increasing the length of time it is taking you to concieve.  Do you know how long your LP is?  Do you know for certain that you are ovulating?  This board is a great resource, so hopefully we can be of help.  Best of luck to you!

ETA: I usually have 29-30 day cycles.  Last cycle was 26 days. I O'ed on CD 17.

It could be possible your luteal phase is short. I had 29 day cycles and always was trying for the middle of the month to have sex, and then after a year and no success, I started charting and found out that I was ovulating on day 19 which gave me a luteal phase of only 10 days, which is acceptable although most physicians like to see at least 12 days.

Thanks everyone for the feedback.  Yes I have been charting and using OPKs as well as seeing fertility specialist.  I had high prolactin levels which has been corrected with medicine so I?m back to having normal cycles.  I have been stressing about the whole testing, charting, etc process.  So this month we were doing the process naturally without meds and just plan to just have sex every other day during my normal fertility window based on past charts.  This was meant to take some stress off, but now with the hubbys sickness if our earlier try didn't work we will have to start over next month.

Aha. That answers a lot of questions.  In that case, it sounds like you are doing all that you can.  Fingers crossed for you!  Best of luck this cycle. Like PP said, sperm can live for up to 5 days, so there is definitely a chance.  Again, good luck!

I have anywhere from 26-29 day cycles.  I have ovulated anywhere from CD12-CD17, and I knew this from charting, and using OPK's, except for this month, I didn't use OPK's, just temps and CM, so you never really know when you O unless you chart and/or use OPK's.

I had a few 27 day cycles.

They got progressively shorter (started at 30 days) when I went off the pill. I also was found to have high FSH, though. That may have had something to do with it. My LP's were borerline short (10-12 days) and varied as well.

I have a 26 day cycle, sometimes it varies 26,27. Dr. Advised to BD between day 10-16 of my cycle. I have no know issues that might affect it. This is our 2nd month trying so we will see. Good luck. Like the others said semen live for a few days, so you should be ok.
