Ok, I'll play! I've read a bunch of reviews about Fertility-Aid about how it will get you KU within 3 months. All of the reviews are from women with PCOS or other issues. I was wondering, if someone with regular periods took it, how would it effect them? How bad could it eff up their cycle? I haven't taken it but I seen it in GNC and was curious about it. Sorry I'm bumping from my phone so there's no paragraphs.

FertilAid actually takes a few months of use before it reaches it's full potential. The only reason it would make me a bit nervous is that it contains Vitex (Chasteberry). Vitex effects your hypothalamus & pitiuitary glands production of progesterone & prolactin. I'm not sure how bad it could mess you up but I probably wouldn't mess with it if you do not have any issues.
I don't really have a question, but I am really bored at work today too ...
Oh and house hunting sucks ...
In todays market it certainly does. There just isn't enough out there and what is, isn't the greatest! It's a really good time to buy though. I used to sell real estate and miss it a lot. How long have you guys been looking?
We have been hunting online and keeping track of listings for 2 months now. We officially started looking at houses on Saturday.
We fell in love with the first house we saw. It has everything that we could ever need. And we could grow as a family with the house, except that DH thinks he needs to see everything out there before making a decision. Hence we have already looked at 4 more, and I am still caught up on the first house. DH is trying to convince me that there might be something better still, and we need to look more.
We have a lease till March 2012, so technically we still have some time, and we don't need to buy right away. As if we were to sign now, we might have to pay rent + mortgage for a few months (which would be very hard)

If my last 6 cycles have been: 27, 27, 26, 26, 30, 28 days is it safe to assume that I O at different times each month? I guess at only 12dpo and AF due tomorrow (based on a 27 day cycle) I am thinking this makes my LP pretty short?

Must start temping after this cycle!!
While you can assume you O at different times, it would be easier if you charted. I would typically O anywhere from cd15-19. And sometimes my LP was different lengths too. Everything is easier to dissect when you chart!

We looked for about 6 months and DH had the same idea as yours. Something better could be there. Its impossible to see everything though especially because new homes come on everyday. We bought in 08 & things really got rough at the end of 08 beginning of 09 so of course now we are looking at bigger better houses for less than we paid. Of course you don't want to lose that perfect house you already saw if nothing better pops up. The whatifs make you want to pull your hair out!

My O dates were all over the place and my LP ranged from 10-13 days. I'm a little confused by your post though...you think you O'd 12 days ago & your period is due tomorrow? A 12 day LP is pretty average it would not be considered short.

I am so tired of my monophasic temps! I have been off of BC since April and only had one period in July which was induced by Provera. I stopped temping a couple of weeks ago because I was tired of seeing the same temps with no sign of ovulation. I know it can take up to a year for my body to regulate after going off the pill but come on! I have an appointment with a RE next week, which I know is kind of early but I don't want to wait a whole year to see if I'm ever going to ovulate (and I don't want to continue seeing my OB if I would need additional treatment).
Vent over- thanks!

I'll play..only because it's flame free tho, bc these are prob dumb questions.
1. I've heard a couple of ladies on here say that they can tell by their CM when AF is coming..maybe I skipped this in TCOYF, but can someone explain this please?
2. Would semen interfere with a pregnancy test? Sometimes I want to take a test in the am, but we've just had sex..thoughts?
Patiently waiting for our 1st since 9/2010.
Dealing with MFI, good count, good motility, 3% morph-HSG all clear, all other test results came back normal, IUI is our next step May 2012- Clomid 50mg + IUI = BFN June- Cycle Break July- Forced cycle break due to cysts August- Femara, Trigger, IUI#2= ?
I'll play! I'd take one chart stalk please.
Is it safe to say that the first dip after ovulation was a fallback rise? It definitely isn't a pretty chart but who knows!

I'm sorry you're frustrated
What were your cycles like before going on BC?
They were normal, I think. I was on BC for 13 years (which I'm sure is not helping me now!) so it's hard to remember, but I'm pretty sure they were normal.
I see you have PCOS. I have already diagnosed myself with that . But seriously, did you have any symptoms of it or did you find out from BW and u/s?

I am confused about my chart. It took a nosedive on 5dpo and then went back up. I have been having really bad cramping on and off since O. Just wondering if it looks normal or not. This is my first month charting, and it seems like the never ending cycle! Any opinions would be much appreciated. TIA

I have read from many sources that Omega-3s help hormonal regulation and overall fertility for men and women so DH & I have been taking them for about a month now!! I got a bottle of 180 for $10! But also make sure the label says it has been tested and is free of any mercury!
Essential fatty acids help to:
Regulate hormones
Increase the blood flow to the uterus
Reduce sensitivity to the hormone prolactin, which can suppress ovulation.
increases egg white cervical mucus, which is needed to help the sperm reach the egg.
Helps your cycle to become normalized.
Thanks! I've read that too. My prenatals have a separate DHA pill so I've been getting omega-3 for the past 5 months. I'd do anything right now for a normal cycle!

Agreed.
LisaBea, I took it last spring and ironically got ku the first cycle using it. Even though I have regular periods, I do have a suspected lp defect.
I am trying it again because I have nothing to lose. I've exhausted all avenues that dh and I can agree upon and I still have a suspected hormonal imbalance/lp defect. Both times I took it, I ovulated later, but otherwise it didn't affect my cycles much.
I am confused about my chart. It took a nosedive on 5dpo and then went back up. I have been having really bad cramping on and off since O. Just wondering if it looks normal or not. This is my first month charting, and it seems like the never ending cycle! Any opinions would be much appreciated. TIA
I don't believe your CHs. I suspect you are in the midst of an annovulatory cycle. I'm sorry. I'd give it until FF says you should get AF and then go get a script for Provera if she doesn't show. These things happen.
I agree, I'm not really sure that you actually O'd. Without more temps in the beginnings it's a bit hard to tell. I agree, call your doc to start your period if you do not get it.
I was diagnosed in high school due to weight gain and irregular cycles. Bloodwork and u/s were never conclusive for me. Some cycles I had lots of small cysts, some cycles I didn't and my testosterone was slightly elevated.
I would NOT start thinking that you have a problem this early. If you had normal periods before BC, then in all liklihood, you will have them again. It is a slippery slope when you start looking for problems that aren't there.
That said, I have no issue with people going to see a doctor before the 1 year mark if there are clear indications that there is a problem. Going 60 days without a period is an indication that there might be a problem. Then again, it may still be your system regulating from the BC. Just don't go wishing IF on yourself. IF sucks and it can take a toll on your marriage and your mental health. It SUCKS and impatience is not a fertility issue.
Oh, I'm sure! You're right, it is early but it concerns me that I am not ovulating yet. Hopefully it is just my body regulating, and hopefully the RE will be able to shed some light. Thank you!!

Okay I asked the other day but never got a real answer can i use a regular thermometer for temping or is there a special kind for that? And one more question If I wake up during the night do I temp then or does it have to be in the morning?

You can use a regular thermometer but a Basal Body Therm would be best, you can find them at most pharmacies.
You will want to temp after 3 consecutive hours of sleep and preferrably at the same time. For example, if my kid wakes between 6-7am consistantly I would set an alarm for 5:30, temp, then go back to sleep.

Thanks both bumpies who chart stalked me(im getting an error now anytime i try to quote ). Im hoping for implantion dip but also no it could be a fluke. I have my fingers crossed, either way i am glad my lp is looking like a more regular considering last month ( 1st month started to chart mid cycle - it seemed i only hada 6 day lp)

I forgot to add... if you are anything like me and worry 'what if I am pregnant and I take this drug, won't it harm the baby?' ask for prometrium instead of provera. It's a natural progestin and it is safe during pregnancy. It will not trigger a m/c when you stop taking it either. I requested prometrium for all of my annovulatory cycles because I would always have that nagging doubt, what if I ovulated and could be pregnant, but it's too early for an HPT to show it?
Thanks!! I will make sure I remember to ask to Prometrium if the time comes. It will be much better to be prepared when I go for my next appointment.

Ok here's a new-to-charting-possibly-dumb-question.... I just started charting this month and using OPKs. Got my first +OPK on Sat night. *IF* my temps stayed high for today and tomorrow, Monday would have been marked as my O day. BUT..now today, I had a temp drop and EWCM. So, why a +OPK on Sat? What the heck is going on??

We waited about 4 months to start charting. It's not hard or invasive so it just made sense to find out what was happening.

Dealing with MFI, good count, good motility, 3% morph-HSG all clear, all other test results came back normal, IUI is our next step

They were normal, I think. I was on BC for 13 years (which I'm sure is not helping me now!) so it's hard to remember, but I'm pretty sure they were normal.
I see you have PCOS. I have already diagnosed myself with that
. But seriously, did you have any symptoms of it or did you find out from BW and u/s?

HI!!!!
Thanks! I've read that too. My prenatals have a separate DHA pill so I've been getting omega-3 for the past 5 months. I'd do anything right now for a normal cycle!

I don't think you o'd so FF isn't going to give you CH's. Keep temping. When your temp rises and stays elevated for 3 days FF gives CHs.
I agree, I'm not really sure that you actually O'd. Without more temps in the beginnings it's a bit hard to tell. I agree, call your doc to start your period if you do not get it.
Oh, I'm sure! You're right, it is early but it concerns me that I am not ovulating yet. Hopefully it is just my body regulating, and hopefully the RE will be able to shed some light. Thank you!!

Thanks! That is pretty disheartening because my doctor told me not to come in until October if AF doesn't show. Fingers crossed that AF shows soon!
Yes, but you are going to get honest answers.
Thanks!! I will make sure I remember to ask to Prometrium if the time comes. It will be much better to be prepared when I go for my next appointment.
Ah! Your're right, I had to go look that one up again
I am over thinking everything!
New Here! Hello to everyone.
Been Married for almost 2 years i am 26 and DH is 27 just started TTC this month but have not charted just did the "baby dance" Every other day from CD9 to CD18.
Just curious how long you all waitied to start charting or if you did it right away.
Anyway Hope I can learn a lot from all of you!
Not getting my hopes up for anything this month.
Have a great day!
I am not sure, but did you stop testing with OPKs after the positive? Did you use FMU?
EDIT: Duh, you said Sat night. Sorry.
DS - Born 6/17/12
DS#2 - Due 2/11/15
We waited about 4 months to start charting. It's not hard or invasive so it just made sense to find out what was happening.
