Munchausen by Internet?

Have you guys seen this: A girl posted on 0-3 that her DD died due to SIDS at 430am  Monday and some pointed out that she had posted Monday at 430PM that she and her family were fine....another complete liar??  IDK.  I hope her DD (if she has one) isn't deceased but it is sick to lie about the death of your child.

Yeah, that initial post sounds like MUD but I'd never call it out.  But the follow up pretty much confirms it.  It never ceases to amaze me how sick, bored, twisted people can be on message boards.

I didn't read the links but I've been thinking about this topic since the weirdness with that woman who's dog may or may not have mauled her daughter. There seem to be some really seriously messed up people out there who need attention and sympathy from strangers online and will make up all kinds of crazy stuff to get it. Very sad.
