I'm trying to stock up on some healthier foods to keep me from eating the junk that I have been craving. Looking for some good ideas. What's in your fridge or cupboards? TIA
Are you looking for snacky stuff, or meals? For snacks, I like whole grain bread (I use Ezekiel sprouted grain English muffins) with nut butter (I alternate between almond and tahini w/ honey). I make quick quesadillas with whole wheat tortillas, black beans, salsa and avocado. I always keep a lot of fruit on hand, dried and fresh, and whole nuts. I make green smoothies most days - if you haven't had them, they'll sound gross, but they're really good! I make mine with banana, almond milk, and greens (kale, rapini, collard greens, etc). I eat soy yogurt every day, though it's pretty high in sugar.
Ummm, sorry, that was a lot...I'm very enthusiastic about eating!

The snacks I enjoy right now are granola bars, crackers, low fat cookies, low fat brownies, nuts, and fruit.
veggies - spinach, bell peppers, edamame, carrots, cucumber
milk, yogurt, sour cream
juice - grapefruit juice, grape juice, cranberry juice
fruit - apples, grapes, lemons, limes, watermelon, raspberries (I've got tomatoes, oranges and nectarines on the counter)
Right now I have some chicken and ham for freezer meals in there too.
But most of my snacking consists of fruits, veggies, string cheese, and pretzel sticks. A good rule of thumb is to combine a carb and a protein. They work together to fuel the body and keep you feeling fuller. (like peanut butter on an apple, or string cheese and crackers)
