What is the 1 thing you wish you did more of before having kids or TTC?

I wish we would have traveled more. I know we still can with M but it was so much easier before M

Random nights out for fancy dinners and lots of drinks and expensive food.

Realized how much harder it is to do anything with kids. I really wanted to do an ironman triathlon (tons of training!) which would just be really hard to find the time to do now.

Yup - travel.  I've been a couple places, but there are SO many more I want to visit and now it's going to be years before I'll have the opportunity.

Also, (this is more of a before DH thing) I never lived alone.  I wish I would have had my own apartment for at least a year, but I always lived in houses with roommates.

Travel for sure. And I wish we'd saved more money.

 

I am glad we did all the remodeling that we did pre-kids though.

Save money and take classes for cool hobbies, like wine and cheese making.

I wish I had taken better advantage of the opportunity to do things without over-planning them ahead of time... this applies to everything from international travel to date night to grocery shopping.

Travel, particularly overseas. Now DH doesn't want to fly because he is afraid of LO getting molested by the TSA or getting harmful radiation from the body scanners...

Both of these for me as well.  I really want to travel more .. but now trying to save for college/ivf/life etc makes it much more difficult!

Both of these for me, but I also wish we would have saved more money before we had kids.

Gone on a real vacation, and lived somewhere smack dab in the center of downtown in a big city.  I really think we would have enjoyed it, but it would be much harder with LO.

It would have to be travel too!!  We traveled a lot, but I regret not going to Europe at least once!

Slept more.   Not necessarily traveled more because we/I did quite a bit of that, but probably enjoyed more weekends away locally.

A vacation on our own not taken with others! Oh goodness how I wish we would have done at least one where it was just us.

And this will be odd, but I wish I had gotten to start my career. DS was a big surprise and life changed quickly.
