Strange feeling(NTTGPR)....

My father passed away almost 2 years ago and I was finally ready to sell the house this summer. 

Since no one will really be in the house anymore I just canceled the phone number that he had for 25+ years.

 It just felt so strange to cancel it. Just had to get that off my chest.  Thanks ladies :)

    That had to be very hard for you. Although it's been 2 years, I'm sorry for your loss. That would feel very strange to sell the house & cancel the number for sure.

    I am so sorry for your loss.

    I am sure it would have felt very strange to cancel the number that you always associated with your dad (and home).

     

    BFP 1: Sept 5, 2011 - Ended in Chemical Pregnancy at 5 Weeks
    BFP 2: Dec 2012 - Baby Girl born in July 2012
    BFP 3: Sept 5, 2013 - D&C on Oct 16, 2013
    BFP 4: Jan 30, 2014 - Stick baby Stick ... Due Date Oct 1, 2014

    I'm actually feeling better now that I've posted that here. :) 

    I think once the house is actually sold it'll bring a bigger flood of emotions. Happy and sad. 

    In my rational mind I know that the memories are the important things. Not a phone number or a house.   I'll hold on to those.   Thanks again.

    I had a very similar situation.  MH and I bought my grandparent's house after they passed away and switched their phone number into our name.  Last year we had to move due to MH's job (about an hour away) and are renting out the house so we had to cancel the phone.  It was weird because I felt sad about "losing" that number and so did my parents since it was my grandparents for like 30 years (or more?).  I'm sorry about your dad passing - I hope you are hanging in there.  Sad
