Best diaper rash cream?

That.Just.Happened

E got a diaper rash a few weeks ago when we took a trip to Charleston and it is still lingering.  This is the first one she has ever had.  We have been using both the California Baby cream and Beadroux's Butt Paste.  They seem to help but haven't fixed the problem entirely, and it has actually gotten a little worse in the past day. 

Any recs for a magical fix?

A little cortisone, with a layer of Beadroux's over top, used to do the trick for us.

Purple Desitin is the ONLY thing that will touch E's rashes.  It works overnight.

 My pediatric doctor neighbor swears by the purple desitin. She says that's the only one to use! We have so many bottles of various kinds around the house, we use whatever.. but if it is really bad, I make sure to find the purple desitin bottle.

As Geneva got older, we switched off the Boudreaux's and moved to Desitin. She got a particularly bad heat rash that required the extra-strength power. The Desitin kicks it super fast.

ETA: Sometimes yeast infections present as diaper rash in lil gals. All you'll see are raised red bumps on the hiney. If it sticks around too much longer, give your pedi a call. They can prescribe you a creme for it.

Triple Paste was my go to cream.  Good luck!

If it's lingered that long, it's probably some form of yeast.  Lotrimin + A&D clears it fastest for us.  Sophie just had it a couple weeks ago and this cleared it up in 48 hrs.

Triple Paste worked for a while for us.  The last bad rash required A+D ointment.  I also found that Lansinoh works in a pinch (although it is a pain to smear on)

Thanks ladies!  I am thinking perhaps it is the yeast situation, so we will try to treat that first.  I will def have to pick up some of the purple desitin as well, based on all your glowing recs!

We've certainly been there in the past, and it ain't pretty!  If you happen to look here again, try the combo creams that PPs suggested and also add a good sloshing of baking soda in her bath water.  Then when she's out let her cute little self run around naked for as long as you can; both of these things dry out all sorts of rashes!  HTH and hope she gets better soon!

I never liked the the diaper rash creams with zinc oxide, because they seem to worsen the problem.  I liked using A+D Original Ointment (https://www.myadbaby.com/special_offers.html).  It prevents and helps current rashes.  Be sure to let the bottom air dry before applying the cream and putting on the diaper.
