DD's birthday party dilemma #2

Okay so we have confirmed 2 children from DD's class coming and three of my friend's children may be coming but they haven't told me yet.  I have to contact the party place by tonight to tell them how many pizza's we will want.  If our friends and their kids come, including the four of us I estimate needing 40 pieces of pizza (4 pizzas).  It's possible it could be just the four of us plus the two kids and their moms.  Or it could be 8 adults and 7 kids.  Or people who didn't RSVP could show up in addition to all of that.  So essentially I have to figure out in the next hour how many pizzas we need.  I thought maybe order 6 in case but if we only need 2 then that's a lot of pizza left over and a lot of money spent (each pizza is $15).  I hope all my birthday questions aren't annoying I just don't know what to do when 19 children haven't been RSVPed for.

  • The thing that stinks about this place is that the only food items you can bring in is cake and individual cups of ice cream.  Oh and bottled water.  My friends have both said they might come but still don't know yet.  I think we'll either go with 4 or 5 and just keep the leftover for dinner Sunday night.  I swear the kids' birthdays are never this drama filled for me.  I have a lot of other things going on right now so I'm more sensitive to small stresses than normal.

yeah, it is annoying when they dont answer. i order for large groups all the time. i alway do three ppl per pizza that are confirmed and round up to an extra for non respnders. this way every gets about two slices.

Yeah that sounds good to me.  As long as most of the people who didn't RSVP show up then I think we'll be good.  I was just surprised that so many people didn't RSVP that they couldn't come.  DD got a card made by a boy in her class that says "I hope you have fun at your party".  I took that to be a sign that he's not coming.  Then another boy gave her a paper today that says he likes birthday cake and it's his favorite thing to eat but looked like it was written for him by an adult.  So now I'm wondering if the little boy likes cake so much that he is coming.  So it's almost like two indirect RSVPs.
