Implantation dip?

Is it true that implantation dip can occur anywhere between 5 to 10DPO?

Re: Implantation dip?

  • I've read 7-10 DPO.

  • I've heard that 3dpo is the absolute, definete earliest but is really rare. I had it at 4dpo with my 1st child and I had a big dip today at 4dpo so here's hoping. 12dpo is the latest, and average is between 7-10dpo.

this says that the egg stays in the tube for up to 24 hrs and then begins to travel the tubes, which takes about 3 days but can take longer. I've read 3dpo as the earliest on other pages but I can't find the resources now.

That gives me hope. Today my temp dipped below coverline and I have been nauseous and my breasts are tender. I am smelling everything and I'm wondering if this could be my cycle. Hopefully my temp will jump back up tomorrow.

I'm hoping the same thing! I read 3dpo and I was like really? seems too soon. But I checked my chart from Jan 2008 [the cycle I got a BFP with DD1] and I did have a temp dip at 4dpo that went below my coverline. GL to you!

I'm not sure. This is my first cycle without my IUD so from my July period to August it said 23 days.

If you are thinking you implanted today then the nausea and tender breasts are not due to being pregnant, it takes a few days after implantation happens for the pregnancy hormone to kick in....beginning any symptoms.

  • A dip in your LP does not automatically mean it is an implantation dip.  It is normal for tempsto go up and down a bit

Ok. I was just asking because Oing on CD 9 seems early. It's possible though.

  • It is 1000 times more likely that a temp dip at 3-5 dpo is a secondary estrogen surge to keep the corpus luteum functioning rather than an implantation dip.  I had plenty of temp dips 3-6 dpo on cycles that I was not pregnant.

I was thinking the same thing. And OP, I've also had several cycles with a dip and it meant nothing for me.

This. A dip in temp is common about 5-9dpo, when you might have an estrogen surge. I get this dip in almost every chart around 7-8dpo.

The symptoms could be due to it being your first month without the IUD. My symptoms the first month off BC were really bad.

    This, exactly.

Severe MFI. Me: supposedly all clear but eggs showed vacuoles.

IVF #1 January 2012, ER Jan 14th: 34R, 27M, 23F. Day 3: 18 embies still strong. Day 5: zero "good," one "fair," the rest "poor." Transferred 3. None made it to blast or to freeze. Jan 28: BFN.

Lucky IVF #2: Transferred two beautiful day three embies on St. Patrick's Day. BFP on HPT 7dp3dt. Beta 1 (14dpER)=106; Beta 2 (16dpER)=140; Beta 3 (19dpER)=264! First u/s 4.17.

  • So this morning my temp was STILL low barely above coverline! I don't understand whats going on. I thought after 'O' your temps were supposed to remain clearly above coverline for the most part.

They generally do. Sometimes they dip for a couple days, sometimes they dip multiple times. I still think O on CD9 is early and you may not have actually ovulated yet, especially recently off BCPs. Keep up the temping, and try not to read into every individual data point, and rather the pattern as a whole

Use your chart as your primary sign. If they come back down and you lose your cross-hairs, there's no reason to test.
