I'm having some real pains in my a$$ (my left butt cheek specifically) and it does not radiate down my leg like most sciatic pain usually does. Its the worst when I'm moving from sitting to standing or getting out of bed.
Is there anything else that I can do to make this go away? Its awfully early (8w) to start this crap, dontcha think? ![]()

Re: Sciatic nerve pain
I had bad sciatic nerve pain with both pregnancies and was shocked at how early it started with #2.
Hands down my saving grace was the tush cush. (you can google for online sales but I got mine at a local back store)
I did chiropractic care until I turned blue and got some relief but was always in agony by my next appointment. Once I got my tush cush I never went back to the chiro.
That thing is magic I tell you!
Total score: 6 pregnancies, 5 losses, 2 amazing blessings that I'm thankful for every single day.
Our beautiful son was born July 2008.

Feb 2011-Unmedicated FET= BFP!! DS #2 born Oct 2011!!.
my dad has recently discovered that same pain is a ruptured disk for him. L4 area I believe. The swelling is pinching a nerve or something. (not saying that's same same for you, tho) I begged him to go to acu, and it DID help him a lot. He's still dealing with potential surgery tho, but the cat cannot MOVE, he's beyond miserable. I hope taking it easy is all you need ;-)
very early! however, yes sounds like that's what you are having.
I had some issues while pregnant, hold that, still have issues. I have some stretches I do. I think if you google sciatic stretches you will get some. I don't know what to call them or how to explain them:) ha
It sucks, Itty bitty laid on mine the entire pregnancy.

I had a lot of that during my pregnancy (early) and it continued after I delivered...in fact, I still have it. Ended up finding out it was SI (sacroiliac) Joint dysfunction. During pregnancy, the hormones cause joint relaxation (esp in the pelvis), and sometimes they just don't go back to normal. Mine didn't and at times I can feel it pop back and forth.
