Car window shades

I've been through so many of these in the past 4+ years!!

The suction cup ones never seem to stay on.

The ones that clip on the top of the window - every time I open the window, they come off (stick in the top of the window frame), and then there's a big crunch when I try to close the window.  I try to never open the back windows any more but sometimes DH or I forget.

Does anyone have a window shade they love?  Are there cling ones that work well?

I also find that when the shade is down, they never stay stuck to the window (suction cup at the bottom) and then the kids play with them, so then they don't work well (suction cup gets worse and the shade doesn't shade well).

Re: Car window shades

  • I have the cling ones (like a piece of window tint) and haven't had any issues in the past 3+ years. I have taken them off & on and they still stick fine. The only annoyances are you aren't supposed to put the window down with them on (then again you can't really with a big stick on one either) and it takes a little patience to apply it with no air bubbles. I also just feel like they are safer.

  • We have the cling ones, they work great.  I think ours are Eddie Bauer from Target.  I can never get the suction cup ones to stay on either!
  • Thanks for asking this and thanks for the recs ladies!  Our just fell off this past weekend and I haven't bothered trying to get it back on the wondow yet.  Now I won't even try =)
