Wondering what you all thought of the name Bridger for our boy. My DH likes this but I'm not sure how I feel, I don't love it but don't dislike it either. Our last name is a very common last name not Smith but common like that so we would like something unique but not odd.
Re: What do you think of this name?
It sounds too much like the girls' name Bridget.
Think about your son in 30 years. Do you HONESTLY think that Bridger is going to go over well in a work setting? Not only is it made up (heck, even Bridge would be better than BridGER), but it really is not easy to say.
I agree with this. In my mind, I automatically was thinking Bridget.
Holy tickers.
Sorry, it's NMS. It's the name of the Wake Forest Field House. Go Deacs.

This.
At first glance, I thought it WAS Bridget.
The husband of a girl I work with is named Bridger. Her name is Kyndra, her DS is Brant and her DD is Davin. So, they all have "different" names. Bridger definatly suites him though. If you guys love it, go for it!
I agree. It may be a unique sort of nickname if it was earned in some weird way, but I don't see this as a real name...and certainly not a name that will age/mature with him. Honestly, when I read it at first I must have been reading too quickly and actually thought that Badger was being suggested. Not much better, LOL.
I agree with this.
I saw Badger first too. I agree that it's just sounds made up, although a few of the other posters have known people with that name, I would never use it.

Go with what you want. I have heard the name Bridger multiple times in my hometown and it sounds fine.

My first thought was if he's chunky kids will call him BIGGER
Okay, I know this isn't your intention but the name reminds of the Indian name Brijesh. I once knew a Brijesh (nn "Brij" pronounced "Bridge"). It really suited him, and I really liked it. That said, not sure I can get on board with Bridger. What about another "Br" name? Brody?
I really dislike Bridger.
Maybe Archer or Brighton would be your style? I like those much more than Bridger.
