My SIL watches Michael during the day while I am at work. I am kind of upset about the following - First of all, she lets my niece pick him up and carry him around the house. I didn't address this figuring that she is being watched by my SIL (hopefully). Then I found out she is actually giving Michael his bottle sometimes... Now I just picked him up and he had orange around his mouth and it was from a popsicle. Apparently she is now feeding him popsicles... What else is she feeding him/doing when SIL is not watching? Or does my SIL think this is no big deal? I told her about the popsicle today and she said something to her daughter about it. BTW, my niece is 6 and was also a preemie. Sorry just had to vent a little - I am pretty disappointed/upset about the popsicle thing - more so than the other things which don't make me really happy either. We only feed Michael formula....
Re: Niece feeding DS
I think you have every right to be upset about all of the mentioned and I would certainly have to address it with her.
I am sorry that you have to deal with this.
This is one of those times when you have to talk to her and make sure she isn't doing things that make you uncomfortable. It will be awkward but its necessary.I have a 6 year old half sister and she is only allowed to hold DD when sitting down with an adult watching. The popsicle is just ridiculous.
Good luck!
Our precious girl, born at 27 weeks.
WTF. Seriously? That is ridiculous!
I would find alternative childcare, if possible.
This.
So sorry!
I agree. No way I'd have my baby there. Even after talking to SIL, I would still move him to a different care option.
We'll miss you sweet Debbie Girl (4.21.12) and sweet Cindy Girl (8.9.12)
