Just curious what people think about this name.  I have had several FB friends name their little girls this.  I think one was Saylor, but you get the point.

I've never heard this as a name and I'm not really sure how I feel about it..so I'm just wondering..what do you think about it?

My cousin Zoe was almost named Saylor.

I'm SO glad they went with Zoe.

I don't think it's the worst. I wouldn't use it, but really...it sounds pretty. It's like a softer version of Taylor.

There are much worse names out there.

love it, but recognize it has some drawbacks. It would be on our list but it's too close to Schuyler, so it's out for us

Not at all. It's pronounced Sky-ler. It's a traditional Dutch name. Skyler/Skylar is the Americanized spelling. Schuyler is the original

The sch- is pronounced the same as in school and schedule, the -uy- as in guy and the -ler is pretty obvious

Not a huge fan here.. I'd be more likely to go with "Taylor", although I guess that's more of a boy name.

I must sheepishly admit that it is my guilty pleasure girl name. I love Sailor Jane, and have forever. Even thought of it for at least a middle name.

DH says no way....smart of him, seeing the reactions on this board 

ETA: As my mother says, it is an occupation or hobby, not a name. She said why don't you just name your kid Carpenter...and I said hmmmm...that's kinda cute.
