Re: Welcome to Week 5!

  • I am really scared. I really never thought about having children. I dont have a clue on what to do. We havent told anyone yet. I have been reading like CRAZY for the past day or 2 trying to figure out what I can and cant eat/drink/do. I just dont want to tell everyone and then have to tell them something happened. I also dont want to tell them because I KNOW I will get a lot of I told you so, I knew it and so forth. When are other people telling, or have you already told? Its hard to keep it a secret too long. :) Maybe I'll be able to wait until after my birthday in October.

  • We were going to wait, but my husband was too excited.  I have not told my work and won't be for quite some time, but our family and most of our friends know now.  We were surprised but are very excited!
  • My sister and mom both had miscarriages. We are waiting until we see a heartbeat before we announce it. We are telling our parents and a few select friends and just telling them to keep it a secret. This is our first time and are bursting to tell too!

  • We have decided to wait until the end of the first trimester to tell anyone in case anything happens.  It's a first for us too! I think we'll tell our parents after the first doctor's visit. How is everyone feelings? What kinds of things are you experiencing? I don't know what's normal.  Has anyone had morning sickness?
  • No morning sickness for me (thank god!), but I'm really nervous/scared.  My body just feels weird, but I wonder how much of that is in my head versus really happening?
  • We just found out yesterday. I have had symptoms the last 2 weeks or so. My breasts have gotten bigger, I'm super gassy which is so embarrassing, and yesterday I threw up for no apparent reason, which is what prompted me to get the home tests. So I took them and they were both positive; we have told our families. I called my sister's OB today and set an appt for Sept. 15...I wish I could go sooner!

I am pretty scared too...I have no idea what to expect!

  • Definitely have had sore breasts, fatigue, nausea but no throwing up at this point. I stayed home from work today because I felt super weak when I woke up. I am going to wait until week 14 to inform our families because my husband and I m/c'ed at 12 weeks in September. Just trying to take it easy and cannot wait until we're out of first trimester! Wishing you all a healthy and happy pregnancy <3

  • No M/S or sor breasts at all, but I am really struggling to keep my eyes opened!

Oh, and peeing like you would not believe! I'm going to have the floor worn down from my office to the bathroom, soon!

Anyone else considering just moving into the bathroom?

  • No morning sickness.

Tired all the time.  Yawning all day.

Super sore breasts.. like when I change my clothes and something rubs against them, it really hurts!

We have only told my parents so far.  Going to tell his parents in a few weeks - then going to wait until after the first trimester to tell everyone else.

I have been having to find lots of excuses though as to why I can't go out for a drink with my girlfriends, why I had to quit bootcamp, etc!

  • Hello!!! • This is my 2nd pregnancy, we lost one in January. I'm super nervous about every little twinge and pull. anyone having back pain? I have it just on my right side close to where my kidney is. Its almost a burn not a pain.
  • We lost one in the beginning of June and I am super nervous about everything as well. I have been having some lower back ache when sleeping and some random pains. My ob assured me this is all my body growing and adjusting. I hope so!

  • I did a home pregnancy test last week, and it was positive. I called the doc on Thursday, and she faxed me a blood test form, I went and had a blood test on Thursday  afternoon, and they called me today to say it seems I am about 5 weeks preggies. I have my 1st appointment on 08 September. In meantime ive been told just to take some vitamins.

Feeling slight nausea throughout the day, and quite tired, breasts slightly tender, otherwise feeling all good.

Weve told our parents, family, and 2 close friends. Will be telling everyone else after 3 months, even though we sooper excited and want to shout it out to the world right now :-)
Best Wishes to the rest of you.

  • I just found out Sunday that I am pregnant, 5 wks today. I am very excited and completely nervous! I'm terrible at keeping secrets, we're planning on telling my mom and sister Friday, and his parents and brother in a couple of weeks when we see them. This will be our first (not counting our 2 furry children). So far so good and can't wait to see what all happens.

  • Congrats everyone! I found out last week and now I'm about 5 weeks. I wanted to wait a bit to tell everyone but my husband was so excited so we have told everyone. I hope I didn't jinx myself. I had my first OB appointment yesterday and it was nice to see the doctor and have some questions answered. I still don't feel much different besides being tired, sore boobs, and some nausea (no throwing up) I don't know about all you but I keep thinking they are wrong and I'm really not pregnant. I think we just wanted this for so long it doesn't seem real. I'm excited for an ultrasound in 3 weeks I bet I'll feel better then :)
  • We found out on Friday and told my mom, my hubby's parents and sisters, my brother and his family, and my oldest sister. My middle sister's wedding is on the 3rd so we aren't telling them or my oldest Brother since his wife and him are blabber mouths. lol We also told my best friend, and his. We plan on telling everyone else after 12 months, when it's "safer". I don't go to the doc's until the 12th which seems like forever!! We are praying that everything is developing just right in there. I haven't had too much symptoms, but I do pee an awful lot, my boobs aren't sore yet really, only when I run, and I have felt a little nausea! Oh and I'm tired! lol

Good luck ladies! Can't wait to share this experience with you!

  • usual wait to tell is after the first trimester... lower risk of miscarriage...

  • We found out last week, and I'll be 5 weeks tomorrow! This is our first pregnancy, so we're ridiculously excited and super nervous too! We're both just busting to tell someone, but my doc scheduled my first appointment for 7 1/2 weeks, and we agreed not to tell anyone until we've heard the heartbeat. I'm just impatient; the wait is going to kill me! lol.

But even then, I think we're just telling our parents/siblings. We're terrified of having a miscarriage, since practically everyone we know has had one. I know that most of the time, miscarriages just happen; they aren't caused by anything in particular. It's just totally nerve-wracking! We both want this baby so badly!

On that note though, I have definitely had symptoms of being preggo from week 3, even though I didn't test positive until 3 days after my missed period. SUPER sore boobs/nipples, nauseous (but no vomiting yet), peeing every 5 seconds, and REALLY tired. I also had some cramp-like soreness for the past 2 weeks. It just seemed to miraculously disappear last night though; very weird. Oh, and embarrassing, but I've already got the first-trimester gassiness; I feel like my stomach is HUGE (it's not, but I just feel like I weigh 700 pounds right now!)

Anyway, we're keeping our fingers crossed! I keep talking to this baby, telling it to be strong and healthy and hang in there! :)

  • I took a home pregnancy test on August 14th, and it was positive. We are so excited! I had an ectopic pregnancy in 2008, so my doctor got me in immediately and confirmed the pregnancy. I had an ultrasound last week that showed the gestational sac in the right place, so we are absolutely thrilled. I go back on the 6th of September for a repeat ultrasound to see the heartbeat (hopefully!) and determine a due date. According to my OB, the ultrasound showed a 4-5 week gestational sac, so we found out REALLY early... going to be a long pregnancy!

No true morning sickness yet. My doctor told me to take an extra 25mg of Vitamin B6 at night to help with morning sickness, and I suppose it's working so far. I am very tired, and I am running to the bathroom quite frequently- so much so that we keep running out of toilet paper at work. :)

     Best wishes to everyone!

  • thank you!.... i found out on 8-23-11... day and earthquike shook the east coast... haven't told my family yet but i wil soon... as for me and husband we are very exited... can't wait to meet out bundle of joy
  • Hello!  We found out we were pregnant with our third child last week!  We are super excited!  I am already getting hit with complete exhaustion!  That is how I was with my son!  Hoping for the best and can't wait til my first appointment on the 23rd!

  • I understand.  We lost one (I was only 6 weeks) in early July and I am extremely nervous - also a bit shocked that we actually got pregnant again this fast.  I been having some lower back pains too and am exhausted!!  I literally thought about crawling under my desk yesterday at work and taking a nap - not too good for long-term employment prospects :)  No M/S though so I'm hoping that's still a good thing.

     Best wishes to all!

  • Hi ladies! I just tested this morning and got my bfp! I can't believe it. This is the first baby for my husband and I. I haven't even told him yet, I'm waiting to tell him tomorrow, which is our 4 year anniversary. I'm buying a Cubs onsie tonight and giving it to him.

I am so nervous and excited. Nervous because I really hope we can make the finances work (I know we can, we budgeted before we TTC), just now that it is all going to happen I am freaking out.

I am feeling sick today and a bit dizzy. We'll see if I am like this tomorrow.

    Congrats everyone!

  • well I'm only 20 and still in college so it was really hard to start telling people, but to my surprise, everyone (including both sets of grandparents) are really excited and happy about it. so don't sweat it! its nice to be able to gush about it with everyone!
  • We found out 8/18. This is our first baby. Hammy first ultrasound 8/22 and they couldn't find anything bc it was too early. Next us is 9/6. Fingers crossed. No symptoms yet which scares me. We have not told anyone, waiting until thanksgiving if we can.

  • Congrats to you CDSC! I have for girls. My hubby and I are waiting til Dec to tell our family. It's easy because we live out of town.

  • Hi Ladies!  My husband and I found out that we're expecting a week ago today.  We were trying, but it still came as a total shock when the test came back positive. Right now I'm feeling a little nauseous off and on, super fatigued, I have really sore boobs and some light cramps/pelvic pressure.

This is my first pregnancy and I'm excited, but nervous all at once. I'm looking forward to meeting all of you and hope you all have a H&H 9 months.

"Even miracles take a little time" Our little pumpkin is here!! Dominick William arrived 2 weeks early on September 30, 2012! 8 lbs 2 oz and 20 inches. For you I've waited all these years.
  • Karen. I am right there with you. I came home and slept today for 3 hours! I just found out this morning (waiting to tell my husband until tomorrow since it is our 4 year anniversary). It amazes me how fast these symptoms came on. I just hope I have a healthy pregnancy.

  • I just found out a couple days ago that I am pregnant. Im also scared! lol

I totally understand where you are coming from. I think if there is ONE friend you can count on, someone who wont judge you or say "i told you so" i think confiding in that one person will help you deal with some of your worries. We all need someone to vent to. A way to get things off our chest so we dont overwhelm ourselves. Actually this message board could help as well.. I mean what better place to vent then to women going through the same thing you are.

I understand what you mean about worrying if something happens to the baby after you have shared with everyone that you are pregnant. We have decided to wait to tell everyone. (until 15 weeks) I read some place that after 15 weeks you should be in the clear. BUT don't take me up on that i may be off by a couple weeks.

I have been GOOGLing like crazy.. reading anything and everything there is out in cyber world. Although it can be helpful it can also be overwhelming.

I think you should take it one day at a time.. Every day is a new day and with every single day you become more and more used to idea that you will have a baby in your life. BREATH. You will know when your ready to let the baby out of the bag. Do not let people get you down or question your decisions or the path your life has taken. This is your life and your time to take control and live out the next chapter of your life. Remember to breath... and come here so we can  give you some loving when you need it <3

  • Whew! Just found out yesterday. I kind of figured as much because I have been a slew of emotions and my breasts are sooo sore! But still, it came as a shock. My SO is being pretty weird, and I am just a wreck. An excited wreck, but one none the less! I haven't told anyone else yet, I'm kind of waiting to make sure we get out of the woods, so to speak.

  • Apparenlty I have been posting on the wrong site.  So here it goes again.  I went to the doctor yesterday to confirm that I'm pregnant with my first child.  My husband is so excited.  I haven't had any sickness, just cramps and sore breasts.  I stay hungry a lot too.  I cried when they confirmed that I was.  I'm excited, scared and nervous all at the same time.  My husband came home from work and walked in the door saying "The champ is here"  He's so excited about the baby.  My due date is May 3, 2012.  Gonna be an exciting journey.  Congrats to all the other new moms to be!!
  • I just got home from the doctor's office. After 3 home pregnancy test, they confirmed my pregnancy. I am 5 weeks and 4 days. Due on May 3, 2012. This was a complete surprise for me and my boyfriend. We've been together for 3 years and talked about getting pregnant, but we thought it would be after we were married. Even though it came as a surprise, we are both super excited and ready for this new journey in life. It's so cute how he is already so protective of me. He called me 4 times on the way home to make sure I was ok!! I guess his daddy gene kicked in quick! I was nervous going to the doctor because I haven't had any symptoms of pregnancy. No morning sickess or sore boobs like you always hear about. But now that I am researching I have more symptoms than I thought!! My emotions/mood have been a rollercoaster ride for about 2 weeks now, I'm so sleepy all the time, and I realized that my constipation was bc of my little one!! I cannot wait to see what the future holds for us. =)
  • Hi, we found out last week, after three pregnancy tests, that we are pregnant with our first baby.  Husband and I are so excited!!  We haven't told anyone yet.  I called my dr the day we found out and we will have our first appt at 8 weeks.  We aren't telling anyone until the ultrasound.  I have nausea randomly throughout the day and am super tired.  No other symptoms yet.

  • I completely understand...this is my first pregnancy.  My husband are I are super excited but I have many moments of being scared and overwhelmed about it.  We have told our parents and sisters but I am finding hard not to tell everyone but I don't want to until I get thru the first trimester  for the majority of our family and friends.  I might tell a few more family members after our first appt with OB 10/6 but it feels soooo far away!!!
  • Congrats!!! I just found out today that i am 5 weeks!! Been trying for a while now. I am sooooo excited. I hope you have great dr visit. where are going to dr at? i am looking not made an appointment yet, i am still researching. I have not told anyone yet but i might before long. I am so excited. My due date is may the 7 of 2012. Good luck and look forward to sharing with you. lol
  • I feel the same way!!  I am 5 weeks and 3 days.  feel tired easily and just different feelings.  nothing too bad though. Sooo. now it makes me nervous since I am not feeling sick that maybe something is wrong?
  • I think I am due May 7/2012 too!

We have also not told anyone.. also because we had been trying for 7 months, so I think it would be funny if baby was born on the 7th of May.. I feel no symptoms yet.. tired in the evenings.. around 5-6pm really tired.. but then I go to bed around 9:30 anyway.. my stomach also grumbles more for food/snacks more often because I'm a small eater so I think my body is sending me signals to try and get more food in..

Havent' told anyone yet either, but we will at Week 10.

My first OB appt is at week 9 and we're really excited to get to that part of hearing the baby's heartbeat...

Today I have an ultrasound though on my breast, doctor thinks it's just a cyst..something felt different to me.. kinda scared.. he says if it's just some benign cyst he'll leave it alone duet ot he pregnancy..*sigh*.. hope all is well and I can get back to focusing on just this little appleseed in me..

  • Hi Nat25 I just found out yesterday I was pregnant via a home pregnancy test and im nervous it might be wrong but I am going this next wednesday to my first OB appt to make sure.  Did you take a second to confirm you were pregnant?  I mean I am pretty sure that I am but you never know, there is always that doubt.

Funny how you say your due May 7th because that is what the online calculator predicts!  I am nervous but excited because my husband and I started trying 4 months ago, that is when I stopped taking birth control and my OB said to give it 3 months or a little more and it turns out 4 months might be our lucky number.  I hope everything goes well with your pregnancy!  We should start a may 7th due date club lol

  • Hi Lady Speed,

Yes, pregnancy confirmed a couple weeks ago by 2 tests and a blood test, my HcG levels were at 3500 on Week 5, which he says is normal as the range for that week is soo large! I guess I'll know the actual due date when I go for my first real ultrasound on Oct 3rd, these 3 weeks need to go by fast!

But if the home pregnancy test said positive, you are defintily pregnant! They may give a false negative, but never a false positive, even my doctor told me that.

Went for that scan on my breast, technician told me it's nothing to be concerned about, she saw fatty build up and that it's normal tenderness with the pregnancy.. funny thing is, only one boob is tender to the touch, not the other! And I thougth technicians werent' supposed to say anything but when I told her I"m 5.5 weeks in and pretty nervous, I think she felt bad! haha

Congrats for you too! We should do a club for babies due the first week of May, but I think that's most of us in this board! It's nice to talk to people here about symptoms/ or lack there of, since its' a secret from everyone else right now.
