BRU Returns

So between gifts I received for my baby shower, and returning many random things my MIL brings over, BRU has blacklisted me from returning anything else! Every time you return something without a receipt, they use your drivers license. Well I apparently have returned too many things and they won't let me return anything any more. Has this happened to anyone else? Does anyone know i fthere is a time I will not be blacklisted? Or how long that will take?

I haven't experienced this (yet), but I do feel your pain on the whole MIL bringing over random things I neither want nor ask for!  How hard is it to just ask?  If you want to buy something for the baby, try asking what I need instead of buying more things he doesn't care about. Sheesh   Good luck with BRU!

I know Target does something like this too.  But if you're maxed out at BRU if they carry the item somewhere else like walmart or target or whereever, I would think you can return it there since you don't have a receipt, just as long as they carry that item.  I think I'm close to being maxed out at target if they do something like this too because I had a ton of diapers he outgrew so I returned to target & got formula instead since I use Up&Up formula

I' not sure how long the blacklist lasts, but probably a year.  For next time, add the items to your registry & BRU won't count that against you.

I agree with PP - go to a different store like Walmart etc.  And GL!

Get DH to return for you.  Then maybe he will have a word with his mother about all the extra stuff.

I'd say yes, return to another store.

Do they really blacklist you even if you just want store credit? I understand not giving you cash but why would they care if it's just store credit and something that they carry? (and if they don't carry it, they should just not accept it, right?)

I have returned things to other places, but I like returning to BRU because most of the time that same item I could get at Walmart or Target is more expensive at BRU, so I guess technically I'm cheating the system, but I'd rather return it at BRU and get a little more back for it than return it somewhere else.

And yes, I usually bring DH or my mom with me to make the return. I've tried using the registry thing, but it hasn't been active since LO was about 6 months old. I had some items like the bouncer that I received for a shower gift, but I never opened it because I wasn't sure LO would like it, so I tried to return it 6 months later, and even though I could view my registry online it was no long active and I had to use my drivers license to return it.

I just wonder if I'll ever be allowed to return something there again without the receipt...
