I've been hitting up consignment sales and saw a great looking swing w/ all the bells and whistles for $50... I'm wondering if I should have bought it.
I already have 1 swing from DD, but she used it ALL the time when she was a baby. I already have a lot of stuff to buy, so don't want to go overboard.
Thanks!
Re: 1 or 2 swings?
We had one of everything (from DS1) and I just rotated them through the stuff. When one was tired of sitting in the bouncy, I switched to the swing. I did have two of a couple of things, boppy, bouncy seat.
I would wait until they get here and see if they even like the swing. After awhile DD hatted being in the swing.
TWO!!! Mine slept in their swings until they were 4 months. So, I'm I big swing advocate.
I will warn you that we used Emerson's old swing when the babies got here and purchased an additional swing. Emerson's went out in the first few weeks and we had to purchase another new one.
Make sure the consignment store will guarantee it for awhile if something should go wrong with it.

2 Swings!
I had borrowed swings and bouncy seats from each of my SILs. We ended up returning both seats at 2 months (we rarely used them) but used the swings until they were 7 months. When the boys were 2 months old we took a trip to CA and we didn't bring the swings. That was a huge mistake...my Dad ended up buying a travel swing. Seriously, the BEST thing ever. I liked having a "normal" swing and a travel. We would bring the travel with us to my ILs all of the time. Plus, the travel swing was only $50.
Aw this is the one I saw... regretting not buying it now!
