Has anyone started lactating yet? I have and I was wondering if I should be worried about my ducts becoming blocked. Is there something I should do, since I am not yet nursing?
This is my 5th child and I have NOT started Lactating yet... I would watch out and make sure you're chest isn't becoming engorged. OMG that is soo painful I had that happen with my 3rd child... I really don't thing you have anything to worry about... IF you are just give ure OB a call and ask them...

Happy 24 weeks ladies! Sleeping is getting much harder and I still don't feel I'm "that big" yet. But It's my first one so I'm not worried. Can't wait til I can post on week 28. lol
I am glad that I am not the only one. This is my first and no one believes that I am 6 months pregnant because of how small I am. But I hope to get bigger becuase anytime he moves or kicks, I definitley feel it!
Was anyone else told during their ultrasound that their baby was in a breach position? They told me that this is still fine but that I'll probably have another ultrasound down the road to be sure the baby gets into proper position. I'm a little bit nervous that he or she may not cooperate and this may lead to a section...is it too early to be concerned?
Baby will continue to turn in you even until 1 hr before you push!! My sister in law was about to go into a C section due to breech baby and he turned himself 2 hrs before surgery, so they cancelled the surgery.. and now she waits
I'm 24 weeks and really showing, unlike the others on the board, put on nearly 20 lbs already..but started off underweight, although some still say I'm small perhaps they are just being polite
Sleep is becoming more uncomfortable, bought the Snoodle from Babies R Us, and starting with leg cramps/spasms in the morning... suggestions?
This is my second baby and i have had leg cramps like crazy!! water is the key if you wake to use the restroom in the middle of the night drink a glass of water before you lay back down it will help alot.
Hey all happy 6 months! Had the glucose test yesterday, I hope that I passed. Ate a protein only breakfast and no sweets the day before after 2pm, so I hope that helps. Crossing my fingers. Only a few more months to wait.
So Happy to be in week 24!! Let the count down begin. I can't wait to hold my baby . I have the glucose test this Wednesday... hoping everything turns out okay. I have been trying VERY hard not to eat LOTS of sweets. Its getting harder everyday. Before I was preggers sweets was something I would have every now and then but now they just taste GREAT. I have only gained 20 pounds and everyone tells me I am all belly. Praying to the Lord this is correct come WED.
Leg cramps are huge right now. By the end of the day my feet are swollen and I can't seem to get comfortable while sleeping because my sides fall asleep!
Hope everyone has a GREAT 6 months!
God Bless

yeah, i get comments all the time that i dont look pregnant, or that i am so small that they think i am only 2 or 3 months..it could also have to do with your size and fitness level before you conceived, because i ran everyday and worked out vigorously..so i dont look like im 6 months at all
Me 2... I've only gained about 7 pounds but have a long torso and am super-fit. OB doc says all is well so that's all I am concerned with..Glucose test this Friday:)
at our 21 week ultrasound my baby was moving into every postion possible, breech being one of them. Both the ultrasound tec and our midwife told us that its perfectly normal. The baby is still small and has lots of room to roll, turn and sumersault and will continue to do so for some time. Im sure you will be okay, think positively!
I did with my son, I was lactating by 20 weeks with him, it is normal and everyone and every pregnancy is different. Just let it be if they become swellen or painful call your doc, and try a nice warm shower and let the water soothe you girls! I am 23 almost 24 weeks along with my 3rd and i expect i will start leaking here pretty soon lol. Just one more tip DO NOT pump, express milk or over stimulate, this can actually stimulate your body to produce the hormone to trigger labor.
No one believes Im pregnant. Ive gained 13 lbs total and gone from my 0's to my mothers 2's. She's little but very active and looves her daddys voice. It's hard to believe it's been 6 months so far!

I am 24 weeks today!! I can't believe it's been 6 months already, it's flying by!!
I don't look very pregnant either! People can tell when I'm wearing dresses, but when I put on sweat pants and a hoodie my bump dissapears!
But boy do I feel pregnant! Backaches, nasal congestion, can't sleep well(and wake up even more tired that when I went to bed) but it's all worth it when I feel my little baby boy moving around in there! Kicks are getting stronger(daddy can feel them now)
Monday we go for our glucose test and another ultrasound! Yay!
Daddy and I are so ready to hold our little one!
Hello all! I am 24 weeks pregnant and this is my 3rd child. We are getting our girl this time! She has been trouble since the beginning. I have been on bed rest for almost 2 weeks now and in and out of the hospital due to contractions. Apparently she can't wait to meet us and her 2 brothers! I pray everyday for God to take care of her and make sure she arrives safe and healthy. It is going to be a long 16 weeks if I carry her until the end!
I am 24 weeks today. I will have my glucose testing in 2 weeks. I have gained 9 lbs but my belly is out!!!! Every one says that I am all belly, which is nice to hear but I feel like I have gained 30 lbs. I love feeling her kick, specially at night. The leg cramps are getting worse but Im going to try the water at night. Hopefully that helps.

I"m surprised they would care this early... there's still so much time left in the pregnancy, and the baby will start moving less and less towards the end of the pregnancy (when they dont have room to move anymore) when its more of a concern.
My experience with a breach - i found out the week before i was due with my 3rd daughter (now 7) flipped around into breach position, and after an unsuccessful attempt to reposition her on a friday they scheduled an "emergency c-section" the following tuesday. low and behold, i went into labor that monday morning and since i'm on a god-given speedy delivery plan, I insisted the nurses move a little faster and not wait for my doctor. They didnt seem take any urgency to it, but 20 mins later when i told the nurse she was coming out she finally listened and all hell broke lose - they only had me in a monitoring room and didnt have anything for a doctor to help me with. she came out breached naturally with no assistance from a house dr - he just threw his hands up and said "i cant help you, you'll just need to push". she was quiet as could be when she first came out which scared the life out of me, but she was just taking in the new world, she was perfectly fine!
my point - even if your baby was breach in the last week, theres a still a good likelyhood that it will turn out fine and not phase the baby at all (and no cone head, too! lol).
24 weeks and already on bedrest?! you poor thing! i hope it starts getting better for you.
the other night it felt like i was having contractions, too, while i was sleeping actually and was dreaming i was in labor. Its been 7 years since i gave birth to my 3rd daughter, and this pregnancy is like a clean slate - i dont remember a THING from what i went through with my other pregnancies and feel like a new mom again. i was getting consistent "gas cramps" but wasnt getting the lower back pain or abdonminal tension. every 10 minutes about 45 seconds long each... lasted for about 2 hours. i'm very quick to shrug my shoulders at something and say its fine and keep going about my day, but i've been getting abdominal cramps here and there for a couple weeks on and off and starting to get slightly more concerned.
do you think contractions early in the pregnancy feel any different than full term contractions? or should i just chalk it up to eatting too many chocolate covered strawberries... (is there ever "too many" choc covered strawberries though?)
Hi, All... i'm new to The Bump so pardon my excessive posts and rants (its exciting!). Happy 6 months!
As for my belly, I started overweight, so i'm not concerned at all that i've only gained a few pounds (they say your not likely to gain much weight during a pregnancy if already starting overweight). In my previous pregnancies i never needed to buy maternity clothes, just larger sizes but with this one i'm already in maternity pants.
I expect my dr to give me the script for the glucose test at my appt on monday, i'm just praying i dont gag on the "soda" they give for it (i'm constently gagging and getting sick with this pregnancy - to a point where i dont want to brush my teeth bc i know i will just end up getting sick during it anyway).
we still have yet to confirm the sex of the baby... not cooperative at the ultrasounds (umbilical cord in the way), but my dr said we'll check again at the next appointment.
luckily no leg cramps, however my jaw has been cramping up.
heartburn has been horrible since day 1. zantac max strength has been my relief.
I know i'm pregnant and its expected, but i've been unreasonably emotional... its just annoying. commercials, stories, news, thoughts... constantly need a box of tissues lol. my poor husband (this is his first child), he's been so supportive.
its getting uncomfy sleeping, but noticed my body pillow is a huge comfort (!).
cant wait to stop waking up for those 2:30am bathroom breaks. oh wait, how easily i forget they are replaced by half hour long feedings. :- natures way of preparing us for sleep deprivation! lol.
Hello fellow Week 24-ers...and Happy Mother's Day!!! What a blessing that we're now in this elite and precious "club". I hope you all enjoyed a special day yesterday. My mom sent me a beautiful card in the mail, and my husband made me breakfast on Sat and surprised me with roses and a very sweet card on Sunday morning, and I received lots of phone calls. I love it!!!
We are having twins, so I look a LOT further along that I am. This weekend, we were out shopping, and two women said: "Wow, you look like you're getting ready to deliver any day now." I laughed and said nope, we've got about 3 more months to go. I am REALLY big! There is another lady at our church who just delivered on Friday, and we were about the same size. LOL!!!
Is anyone else having twins? How much weight have you gained now? I've gained close to 30 lbs.
Greetings my 24 weekers! Seems like it has taken no time to get to the 6 month mark. I have only gained 5 pounds with this pregnancy and it is my first pregnancy. I am not too concerned about the GTT because I am currently a diabetic and I monitor my sugars daily as well as I am on a special diet.
As far as being uncomfortable when trying to sleep all I can say is I am SOOOO ready to sleep on my stomach again! This sleeping on my left side has been the pits and when I do get good sleep it is on the right side which according to my OB is not good for baby. I have resorted to sleeping upright and making my honey go to bed after I do so that his snoring does not keep me and baby up! Sorry sugar..
I am glad that I am not the only one. This is my first and no one believes that I am 6 months pregnant because of how small I am. But I hope to get bigger becuase anytime he moves or kicks, I definitley feel it!
Same here!! But, some days I look (and FEEL) more pregnant than other days. silly baby... A lot of people comment that I don't look as far along as I am, but they don't take into account my height. There is a lot of space for LO to take up.
24 weeks with two little girls - I've been showing since about 10 weeks b/c of twins, but still, everyone says I'm all belly (that's 26 lbs of all belly i guess? LOL) Haven't had much of the swelling or cramps yet and i think exercise really helps with that along with water. I'm still running a bit and hitting the gym a few times a week and that keeps my energy up and water retention down.
Glucose test this afternoon so let's hope it comes out ok. Last week's ultrasound put the girls at 1.5 lbs each so we're getting close!
Our baby was in the breach position as well. The doctor told us that is common because at this stage in pregnancy there is still a lot of room in there for him to flip around and move. It's rare that they don't flip back into the correct position so I think you have nothing to worry about. But this is my first baby as well so I am just going off of what my doctor is telling me.
i havent gained much weight yet, i have gained 10 pounds so far.im not sure if that a good or bad thing but im barely even showing. i can still fit all my pre pregancy clothes. Anyone else like this??????
I have gained 7 pounds so far. Depending on what I wear, you can't tell I have a baby bump. Doctor says everything is fine and doesn't seem concerned. I feel him/her in there moving around - so that's all that matters. :-)
This is my very unconventional solution to sleeping,
I was waking up all the time because my sides were falling asleep and then because I woke up I would have to pee and it was this never ending cycle where I wasn't getting any sleep. Then when my husband was out of town on a work trip, I finally found the best solution.
We
had recently had a house guest and our queen-sized double tall air
mattress was still blown up in the guest room, while my husband was out
of town, I tried sleeping in it to see if it would make a difference.
Because it had been setup up for a while it had a lost some air,
which made my butt dip down and made it more like sleeping in a hammock.
It's great, I can sleep on my back, because I am in a reclined position
and the air mattress supports me on all sides better than pillows
could, plus my feet are raised so I haven't been getting any leg cramps.
It's a bummer not to be sleeping next to my man, but I just moved the
air mattress into our room right next to the bed, so he is close-by.
Plus I am sleeping so soundly, I only wake up once to go pee!!!
I was told the same thing. My dr. Said not to worry about it. When my sister was having her 2 nd kid she was told a couple weeks be4 her due date that she was breach so 3 dr. Put their hands on her belly and turned the baby around! Crazy but it worked for her and she ended up having the baby that night.
With my toddler she would be breach one day then head down the next, at 24 weeks it's definitely nothing to worry about, your baby has plenty of time to move around!
Theydoctors don't like you to gain more than about 15 total but everyone is different,I gained about 65 with my 1st child almost all of it in the last trimester I recommend you don't do that, lol but I lost two with my second..I wouldn't mind losing a few this time around!
I am also 24 weeks its also my first n I can't wait to see my little peanut. I am just a bit lonely because none of my friends understand. I was looking to see if there was a website or some way to connect with other pregnant woman who could give advise.my husband is as blank as me lol
