3rd Trimester

Hello there brick wall, nice to meet you

Since I feel like I ran right into a brick wall over the past 3 days.

I know I have a long way to go but all of the sudden sleeping sucks, I feel like there is NO room left at the inn for the little one, my back hurts, my hips hurt, I have to pee all the damn time (feels like pre UTI all the damn time but isn't).

I just don't know it I can take 8 more weeks+

  • I feel your pain.  I feel horrible saying it, but I keep thinking "You know, a 10 week premie baby usually survives just fine.  Maybe I'll go into pre-term labor!"
  • I hear ya.  Sleeping has now become a hardship.  I know I won't sleep after baby is here either, but at least maybe then I won't have the heartburn and back pain keeping me awake.
  • I am definitely there with you on most days.  The sleeping part is hit or miss for me.  When it's good, it's really good (read: no aches and pains and only getting up once/night to pee), but when it's bad, it is miserable. I have done all I can to make myself comfy, so there really isn't anything left to try.  Just have to drag myself out of bed to work each day and make the best of it.

I just keep looking toward the finish line.  I can't wait to hold my little baby (and know if it is a boy or girl!!).

  • hey Pivey - we're around the same mark and I'm feeling exactly like you - just these few past days especially. I can't even imagine 2 more months... everything feels smushed inside, my back hurts, feet are swollen, just so tired no matter how much I sleep etc....We have so much left to do with the house and the nursery - I can't imagine being useful at all.... Sigh.  Ur not alone!!
  • I feel your pain.  Too bad we don't have much say in any of this!
  • I feel ya. I wish my husband could give me a break and play incubator once in a while.
  • Hopefully this is just a phase that will pass for you.  At 37 weeks, I still feel pretty good, though I have my days/moments.

Try a yoga ball for your hips.  Sitting on it and moving your hips in circles helps me a ton - bouncing may help a bit too.   Heat pads are great for lower back pain too.  I bought one recently and I don't know why I waited so long!  It really helps relax your muscles.

You may actually have a UTI as well - the frequent peeing doesn't normally happen until the baby drops and at 31 weeks that seems unlikely.  Did you talk to your doctor about it?

  • I'm so with you on this one. I'm so ready to post an eviction notice on my uterus telling this baby he's gotta hurry up because his lease is nearly over.

Re: UTI - yeah I'll check with my doc. I don't actually have to pee it just feels like it more. She is head down and pretty low and her big ol but is in my sternum...the rest of her is everywhere else. I just have no idea where the rest of her will fit as she gets bigger!

  • ive had frequent peeing since day one, and i have never had a UTI.

  • I felt that way a few weeks ago, but now it seems to be getting better.  Good luck!  I hope it passes for you soon.
