DC #2 will be born 2 weeks before DD#1's second b-day!
In this case did you try to get your LO (assuming they are ready) to be in a toddler bed? I am just trying to see if im going to need a new crib for DC2.

Congrats! I went straight for a second crib but mine were 18 months apart. with that being said, my 2.8 yr old is still in a crib. He is getting bumped out next month so we have a few months of transition to a big boy bed before #3 steals his crib:).
I say if you keep the LO in a bassinet for a few months than you have plenty of time to transition your older one to a toddler bed. Good luck and congrats again:)
We got a 2nd crib also. DS will be 3 in October and he is still in his crib, no issues. He has never tried to climb out and we haven't started potty training yet. We will probably make the switch this fall.
I say, leave your LO in a crib as long as possible if they aren't climbing out, but that's JMO. GL!

We didn't even consider a toddler bed but went right ahead and bought a second crib. My boys are 21.5mon apart and DS1 has never tried to climb out. We also put them in their own cribs in their own rooms from the first night home from the hospital. If we had kept DS2 in our room/a bassinet for a few months, I may have considered not getting a second crib. I love it, though...it's great to keep DS1 contained and he loves his crib.
