Hello! I have known I was going to join you ladies for quite some time so I have been lurking for awhile getting to know you. Wanted to do a formal intro and hello now that I have outside babies!
My story: After being put on strict bedrest at 20w5d for short cervix and going in and out of the hospital for early dilation/PTL, I was admitted for the last time at 30w2d for a final round of steroids and indocin because I was 100% effaced and 3cm dilated. At 30w4d my water broke, and I held off for 6 days until infection started to set in at 31w3d and delivered my adorable kiddos at 3lb11oz (Jake) and 3lb6oz (Abby) by c-section a few hours later.
Although I was
really bummed I couldn't hold out until at least 32w, they are doing
amazing in the NICU and already yesterday were doing trials with no
breathing support and totally rocking it. So far all my pumping efforts are for nothing but I'm sticking to it! Even though I love being near them all the time, after 77 days on bedrest I must admit I'm excited to go home in a few days and have some time to build up my strength before they come home too. Thankfully I am a 5 minute drive away from the NICU so I should be able to spend plenty of time with them.
Just wanted to say hi since you may see me around these parts with questions during our NICU stay. I recognize some of you from the High Risk board - Hi Mrs.Alice and CurlingRocks! - and I'm excited to get to know everyone over here as well.
