I haven't either. I even have a coupon to try a class for free. I've kinda been waiting for her to get a little older to enjoy it more. I know those classes are not the cheapest things ever. I may be wrong here, but I think they have you do a monthly membership thing.
We have been doing it since about 4/5 months. I love it and LO loves it! In the beginning it was more sing and play w/LO, now that he is mobile (Level 2) it is more them interacting and playing w/little toys etc. He doesn't have many opportunities to play w/other babies so it's great! It's nice to chat with other moms whose babies are the same age too.
It is $75 a month but you can try one free class if you go to their website and they offer an introductory price for first time members. I'd say at least give the free class a shot and see if you like it. Also, be forewarned, they will really talk you into signing up for three months after the class! I think it is totally worth it though!
We did a free trial and I loved it. Unfortunately, I work and the classes don't really fit into my schedule. Also, depending on your situation, it can be a little pricey. If I wasn't working, I would probably have signed up. We also tried My Gym. I liked Gymboree better for younger kids. If my schedule ever changes, I may still think about doing it. Some moms I work with go regularly and rave about it.
We have done the classes since lo was 4 months. She loves it. Level one was more singing and working with the babies in one spot on the floor, now that she is way more mobile it is actually quite physical. We work on the gym to strengthen her mobility even more. The games in the circle have you moving the baby up and down and lifting them quite a bit but again my daughter loves it so much I don't care if I'm a bit of a sweaty mess by the end of class. I would at least try the free class.
I got a Groupon special that you paid for the first month but the registration fee was covered. She liked it so much we signed up afterwards. We don't get to socialize with many other kids so she loves seeing the other kids. The teacher is important to as the sub teacher at our location isn't as good as the regular teacher. We are also going to be doing Kindermusik in the fall I think.
Re: Gymboree classes
I had planned on doing them... but then I never got around to signing us up.
Maybe I'll sign us up for the fall session. DD doesn't go to day care or anything so I think it would be good for her socialization if nothing else.
