nbr: doesn't feel like strep...

My throat has been sore since yesterday morning, and now it's to the point I can't open my mouth without pain, and it kills to swallow. I've had strep, and it doesn't feel like that. No swollen glands or tonsils, no fever. Any ideas? I hate going to the doctors, I go enough for the kids... TIA

i had the same exact thing and went to the doctor because i was afraid it was strep.

I had an awful sore throat w/ no other symptoms.   She said it didnt think it was strep but did a culture anyway. It came back negative.

she said she thought it was allergies.  from all the humidity and the weather, she said there was a lot of mold growing. i think she was right because it was gone in a day or two.

A week ago I had the most horrible sore throat. Now I think it was from the post-nasal drip I had going which then irritated my throat. I still have a little soreness but nothing like before. I think it's from allergies because I also had quite a bit of sneezing, dry eyes, and lethargy. Hope you feel better.

Thanks. Today I woke up cured... so strange. Must just be allergies.
