Where is potty?

Should I leave it in the bathroom so that it is in "typical" and predictable spot? Or should I bring it out in the living room where it would be a constant convenient reminder?

We were always adamant that the potty stays in the bathroom.  Part of PT is learning to hold it and if they can hold it for 1 hr, 1 1/2 hrs, 2 hrs, etc. they can hold it an extra 10 sec from the family room to the bathroom.  We also never read books or played on the potty- the potty was for pee & poop not play time.  As for a reminder in the beginning we never asked if they had to go- we just would say a few times "tell me when you have to go".
