Supposed to hear heartbeat for 1st time tomorrow...

I'm a teacher, and tomorrow is my first day back at work for pre-planning.  I have to wait until AFTER the work day to go to my 3:15 appointment.  This will be my 2nd appointment, and we are supposed to see if we can hear the heartbeat for 1st time.  I'll be 11 weeks along on Tuesday, so I am hoping we will be able to hear it.  Anyone know what I can expect from this appointment?  If the doc can't find the heartbeat on the doppler, do you think she'll do an ultrasound and try to get it that way?  I'm worried we won't hear it and will have to wait for several more weeks....and not know if everything is ok with the baby.  Thoughts?

You should be able to hear the heartbeat at this appt since the home dopplers are working as well by now. I know my friend had a 12 week appt and when they couldn't find the heartbeat they scheduled an u/s which they were able to see and hear the baby at.

I had my second appointment on Friday (I was just over 12 weeks).  They found the heartbeat no problem (although she warned me that sometimes its hard to find).  I'm not sure what they would've done had they not found the hb.  I'm guessing you'll have no problem.  Enjoy!
