Re: How popular is this name in your area?

  • I know one 2-year-old named Quinn and one Quin in his late 20s.
  • I know one, he is a boy, but I prefer it for a girl.

  • If you are worried about popularity, Quinn is a very risky choice. It was one of the fastest-trending names of 2010, leaping from #487 to #253 nationally. That is a huge, huge jump for one year. As long as Glee stays popular and unisex names for girls stay in fashion, it will keep climbing astronomically. I would not be surprised if it becomes a top 50 name in the next 5 years.

ETA: Oops, I just noticed that you have a blue badge. Quinn is becoming very popular for girls. I know one man named Quinn (early 20s).

  • It is an extremely popular last name...we have quinns everywhere..

I don't known anyone irl.  I always thought it was a good boy's name until I joined the bump and realized that is used more for girls.

My cousin named his son Quinn, when I heard it I thought "What a feminine name" he is now almost 2. Then my ex-husband named his daughter Quinn and I thought "What a masculine name" she is 7 months. I have noticed Quinn is becoming more popular for both genders. I also took care of a 7 year old boy whose name was also Quinn
  • I know a Quinn (male) in his 40s, and DS has a Quinn (female) in his daycare class.

  • Getting quite popular here in the Northeast. I'm hearing a lot of 1-2 year olds with this name. I know two personally and hear it a bit on the street and from friends of friends.
