Washington Babies

Back to work

Monday is my first day back.  I'm so excited to be earning money again, talking to grownups, able to have lunch when I want, and have crying free afternoons, but I'm so sad to leave Nathan at daycare. I want to be home with him! Most of the time....

And it's that "most of the time" qualifier that makes me feel like a bad mom.

I'm going MWF the first two weeks and then full time in November.

Re: Back to work

  • Good luck! Definitely do not feel like a bad mom for looking forward to things like adult conversation! I think that is perfectly normal. It is obvious how much you love your little guy and I'm sure you will both be thrilled to see each other at the end of the day!

  • Good luck on the first week back (and good idea going MWF at first, it does make the transition easier). Don't feel like a bad mom, it's not selfish to want to reclaim some of yourself.
  • I think we all feel like that sometimes ;)

Good luck! Coming home to that sweet face will be SO rewarding!

  • Good luck on your first day back!!
  • Hang in there. I felt the same way when I went back. I felt bad about leaving him but happy to have adults to talk to and cry free afternoons. Weekend and evenings are great now. I know that DS gets taken care of well during the day and I get to shower him  with love and kisses when I am with him.

Your a great Mommy and doing what you have to for your family.
