Another question....
Does anyone use Kaiser for infertility treatments? Are they good????
It looks like we can get Kaiser and have infertility coverage thru my husband's new job. We have been OOP so far (8 IUI's and 1 IVF). I am hesitant to leave my current clinic because I really love them but I was thinking we could try Kaiser for a while (if they have a good rep) and always go back to my current clinic if need be.....

I recently switched to HMO Kaiser and I was hesitant to do so b/c I, like you, felt pleased with my past PPO OBGYN. The switch ended up being a total pleasant surprise! Kaiser has been better than I ever would have anticipated and has made my previous PPO OBGYN look terrible! I wasn't getting the right infertility care with my PPO and did not realize it until the switch to Kaiser. My new HMO plan covers 50% of my infertility care and I have been seeing a wonderful RE in Sacramento at the Reproductive Health Center at Point West. I had my HSG procedure done at the Kaiser Hospital in Roseville and I was beyond pleased with the care there as well. Best of luck with your decision!

I have always loved Kaiser and have had Kaiser ever since I could remember. My Husband and I did 4 IUI treatments and I we were thankful that they gave us the chance to try IUI. Since the 4 IUI's did not work, my Kaiser Infertility Dr stated I would have to contact an IVF specialist. After talking to my IVF Dr, I discovered that Kaiser did the IUI's all wrong. Kaiser does a "one treatment fits all" approach. I have PCOS and according to my IVF Dr, Kaiser would need to branch out of the box and not use their "one treatment fits all" approach for clients that have PCOS. So even though I was great full that Kaiser allowed us to do 4 cycles of IUI. It was a waste of time and money. Plus, now that we are starting IVF, Kaiser has washed their hands and is not willing to order any of the blood work that I would need for IVF. The same blood work they did before I began the 4 IUI treatments.
I wish you luck and I hope your experience is a lot better than mine.
