How do you use Calgon? Is it a rinsing agent that I should put in my HE FL's Fabric Softener slot? Do I add it right to the barrel and then do an additional rinse? The directions on the bottle aren't very clear.
Do you have hard water? There's no need to use it for regular washes in soft or normal water.
What kind of detergent do you use? I use a powder and I put the calgon in the liquid dispenser.

Yes, I have hard water, and yes I know it's a water softener. I've been struggling with eczema and detergent allergies. I want to try using Calgon so that I can be sure that the detergents we are using are getting rinsed all the way out. It's my understanding that a water softener can help with that.
So my question is, where do I put the Calgon in? Do I put it in the detergent slot with the detergent? Or do I put it in the fabric softener slot so that it goes in the rinse cycle?

Thanks for clarifying. Your original post sort of confused me, so I went to the basic level just in case.
Put it in with the detergent... but usually soft water makes it more difficult to remove detergent from the laundry. I would personally skip the calgon and do several extra rinses on clean laundry - until all bubbles are gone from the wash cycle.
Hope that you find a solution to help you with your condition.
