Baby Names

How would you pronounce

How would you pronounce Coralie? I keep saying it with a hard Cora-lie, but I'm wondering if it should be Cora-lee. Thoughts?

  • I would say Cora-lee. My cousin's name is Kaylie, so lie = lee to me. Not sure if that's correct or not, but that's what I would think it was.

  • Thanks, ladies! I actually like it a little less with that pronounciation, but I'd hate to make my child have to constantly correct people about how to say her name (like I did growing up). Good to know I was saying it wrong!

  • In my head I said Cora-lie. I thought it was either a misspelling of Caroline or the name Coraline like the movie that came out a few years ago.

But I would assume it's supposed to be Cora-lee, I think it's going to be a name people mispronounce a bit.

  • I would definitely assume Cora-lee. FWIW, both pronunciations are pretty.

  • I would say Cora lee
  • It looks like Cora-lee to me, too. Maybe Coralei for the sound you want?

  • Cora-lee
  • I like Cora-lee better, but the way that it is spelled looks like Cora-lie.
