I love the nickname Ellie but I would rather it be a nickname rather than a full first name.  What name would you pick for that nickname?

My cousin just named her daughter Ellie even though some consider it to be a nickname.  If you're looking for a more "official" name, I would go with Elizabeth or Eliza.

Seems like if they have an E and L in their name they can be called Ellie.  I have a niece Ellie (short for Elizabeth) and a met a little Ellie at the park (Elliot).  I also know an Eliza that goes by Ellie.  I prefer Eleanor as I *think* this was the traditional fn for Ellie.  I think anything goes now though.
