I am really going to be SUPER strict with my diet for now (see post below) and am going to eliminate Lucy meat since it s on the hidden dairy list. I have been have sandwiches with lunch meat (nothing on the ingredients list but oh well) and am wondering what swap I could make. What do you eat for lunch that is milk and soy free?

Re: Lunch help
ask your butcher before you cut it out! If you go to a nicer grocery store/butcher- they should be able to tell you what's in the lunch meat. Boars Head lunch meats are dairy and soy free.
Hormel "natural" products are top 8 free (pepperoni, pre-cooked chicken and some lunch meats). Applegate farms also has safe lunch meat.
Read the labels on your bread- there's quite often milk in the bread. I use tortilla wraps (check for soy though) or pita pockets for my bread. I have dairy free bagels but I'm not sure on the soy.
Other lunch options- salad, homemade soup (although it's like a bazillion degrees out so that doesn't sound good), my DH has been grilling tons of veggies for me on the weekends and I'll eat those stuffed in pitas, coconut yogurt, sunbutter on rice cakes, TJs makes a safe frozen vegan pizza....lots of options- just get creative.
ETA: if you haven't been on FAAN.org yet- check their site for a list of ingredients to avoid on a milk and soy free diet. It's hidden in all kinds of products under different names. That should help you elminate the rest of it.
I just replied to your other post. . but be careful of lunch meats, many of them have casein in them or milk. Ask them to show you the ingredients b/c you are allergic. That's what i do for my son. I know boars head turkey is safe.
here is so me lunch ideas...
* you can make a safe pizza (make dough and freeze it in balls so every time you want to make pizza crust you just take a ball of dough out).. w/ dayia cheese
* take sliced turkey, sliced avocados, sliced tomatoes and roll them in a piece of salad.
are you avoiding the top 8? if not, can you still have fish?
I can still have fish and DH doesn't like it so that is a great alternative!!!
