it's not cow's milk DS was refusing, it was the straw cup, he took it just fine from a bottle. I want to be DONE with bottles so I am thinking of just offering it to him in straw cup only and giving it a couple of weeks. thoughts?
he has no issues grabbing a straw cup of water, drinking it and putting it back.
He eats yogurt, cottage cheese and we put milk in his oatmeal so I am thinking 2 weeks of no milk should be OK. what he does is he'll drink some milk but not swallow but spit it all out, super annoying!
I know 13.5mo is not that old to still use bottles but DD was off them at 12mo old and I feel strongly about stopping them.
Re: F/U to refusing milk
Our DS is similar. I have been having to warm the cow's milk a little and giving it to him in a bottle also. DH has mixed it with BM this weekend while I was at work. He's nursing for less than 5 minutes now at bedtime, so surely we must be close to being done.
I am with you though on wanting to be done with bottles. I finally think I am ready to say I'm done with BF!
It sounds like he's getting enough and if you continue to offer, he will probably eventually take it. They can't go on strike forever!
