Cloth Diapering

Newbie with a washing question

Hi girls - I am really new to cloth diapering, and right now we only do it part time because I am still trying to get H on board, as well as having her in daycare. Anyways, I have a small stash of pocket diapers and I wash with tide powder. My H was trying to be helpful, and he started a load...but he put the dreft liquid wash that we use for DD's clothes in with the diaps! I dont know much, but I dont think that is good. What do I do now?

  • Breathe. It isn't ideal, but it isn't the end of the world. I'd start by doing an extra rinse. That should be fine if all he added was the wrong detergent. If you have repelling issues, you may have to strip, but I'd be surprised if you have repelling after only one wash in Dreft.

  • Ha...Thanks! Glad it is not as big of a deal as I thought.

  • Yes, like PP said, just do an extra rinse -- worst scenario -- boil on the stove for 20 minutes.  That should do it.  :)  We've all had that happen before!
