So both kids have been sleeping poorly and DD was complaining about her throat and stomach hurting. Perfect timing as yesterday was her 4YR well visit. I mentioned her complaints to the dr -- no other symptoms, no fever, appetite fine, activity level normal, sleeps decent but wakes up with nightmares. Turns out she had a mild sinus infection starting to move into an ear infection.
DS is in the same boat -- for the last few days, waking up in the middle of the night when he normally sleeps through, appetite fine, no fever, activity level fine. Seems a little congested but must be post-nasal drip as his nose isn't that runny. He's on allergy meds. I noticed today he sounded a bit more stuffy and asked him if his throat hurt (no) and if his head hurt (yes). He looked a little paler than usual and has some circles under his eyes (he woke up a little early (6:15) but not much more so than the norm).
Both kids are prone to sinus infections. Would you take him in now given his sister's asymptomatic sinus infection or wait for a bit? TIA!
UPDATE: called and ended up there late this pm -- sinus infection. He was running a low-grade temp and didn't even know it! At least we have the meds now.
DD -- 5YO
DS -- 3YO
Re: WWYD -- DS and the dr (update)
Is that kind of thing contagious? It could just be a coincidence, too. We did have a weather front come thru yesterday, so I know my kid gets a bit more "off" with the change in pressure, etc.
I guess I'd call the doc's office and find out what they think.
