I was just getting into my groove with toddler and 4 month old twins after those crazy early days, RSV hospitalization, terrible twos woes and then, bam. Infected gallbladder and stones. Emergency surgery to remove it and a lovely oral thrush infection as a side effect. This is common after pregnancy, rapid weight loss, family history etc... I am healthy weight but did carry my twins to term and they weighed 7lbs 5 oz and 6lbs 12 oz so that was a heck of a lot of baby. I wonder if all the stress of this pregnancy on my body brought this on? Did anyone else experience this? How was it getting back on your feet again? Fortunately my DH took 3 days off and my mom has been coming every day. I'm 12 days post surgery and felt ok for the first time today. Did you ultimately feel better or worse? I have about 4 attacks of pain and vomiting in 3 months that resolved, so I did nothing. Then the last one was so terrible I finally went to the Dr. suspecting it was this. I'll never take my health for granted like that again.
Re: Anyone have Gallbladder out after multiple pregnancy?
my sister just had her gallbladder out - and then days later, b/c she was in a ton of pain, they did an US and found she had a huge ovarian cyst she also needed to have removed- so had another surgery just a couple weeks after the first- it was hell for her... so i feel for you - b/c having infant twins on top of health issues is HELL.
I had kidney stones during my singleton pregnancy - and 2 days after having him had to have surgery for it... and then was hospitalized when he was 3mo old b/c of a kidney infection from the stent they placed... it was hell - so i feel your pain.
i'm sorry you are going through this with new babies at home - prayers that you can get back on your feet soon.
I had mine out about a month of the kids were born. The night H came home from the NICU (19 days after giving birth) I had a horrible gallbladder attack that landed me in the ER.
I have a history of kidney stones, so it might be that I am a 'stone producer' or it might have been pg related.
