My Lo will be 7months next week. We are still dealing with these short naps. She is starting to get overtired. Anyone else in the same boat? Keep hoping she will grow out of this.
YUP! Short 30 minute naps twice a day. Brilliant, isn't it? However, it's almost a good trade in for the 14 hours of sleep he gets through the night. So I will take it.... Most days.
Sometimes we get a 90 minute nap but mostly it's still the shorties. :-( Luckily night sleep is good and he doesn't seem cranky. I'm trying not to stress about it!
Yup. I can get a long nap if I lay with him, but then I get nothing done, so it sorta defeats the purpose. and it's a bear wrestling him into a nap too. We're doing sleep lady shuffle for night sleep right now, and I think we're going to try some nap training too.
Yes- we get 3 naps a day ranging from 30-60 mins and occasionally I get lucky and he'll give me a 90 min nap. And nights are still crappy too. He wakes up 3-5 times a night. It's getting old. Grrr.
count me in, too. In fact, he just woke up from a 20 min nap. He can't stay awake for more than 2 to 2.5 hours, and still wakes 3-4 times at night. He used to take 2 naps a day, one half hour and one 3 hours nap, but it stopped suddenly last week, and we are back in the old routine.
Count me in on this club. DS usually does two naps in the 25-30 minute range, then a third late afternoon nap about 15-17 mins. He doesn't necessarily sleep through the night either. We are doing Ferber method and he might go about 8-9 hours some nights, but its always an "event" b/c its so rare.

Yup! 30 to 45 minute naps 2 or 3 times a day. DD has been sleeping better at night lately since we started Ferber, and is back to either STTN or waking once to eat. Once she can get herself to sleep with zero crying, we'll work on naps, but we are still dealing with usually 5 to 10 minutes of tears and fussing and bedtime, so I'm not going to push my luck with naps. Especially since I only do naps 2 days a week since I work FT, I don't want to task my poor mom with nap training!
Usually three 30 min naps at daycare. At home, ill hold him for one nap so he at least gets one hour to two hr nap. I rock him to sleep for the other ones because he rarely goes to sleep on his own except when he falls asleep after nursing. Which I guess isn't technically on his own anyway. For a while there he would wake right up the second I tried to put him down but I think that's stopping now. He does well at night though! I don't mind two wake ups to eat because he falls right back asleep after eating. And sometimes its only one wake up.
The list keeps growing! We're on about three naps a day (four if he wakes up early) that range from 30-60 minutes. Sometimes we'll get 1.5 hours, but that's rare. There's no rhyme or reason to it. The only times he consistently sleeps 1.5 hours is either in the car or when DH or I are holding him. He pretty much sleeps through the night (mostly, that's a a separate issue altogether) so as long as he's not cranky between the naps, I don't fret over it too much. I briefly tried sleep training for naps when we did it for bedtime, but general concensus seems to be that naps are a different animal altogether, so I'm not quite sure how effective that would be. Good luck to you, it will get better!

I don't know if he prefers his own setting, me putting him down, it is quieter, etc.
He is only at daycare 3 days/week, so I'm not stressing too much. It just means earlier bedtimes on those days.
