Good morning. I am 14/15 DPO and I received my first + HPT last Wednesday. I used the Wondfo brand and it was very faint. I did another one the next morning and it was just as faint. I then went out and purchased a FRER and took it Thursday afternoon and there was definitely a second line ... faint but there. So I waited another 2 days(today) and tested this morning with FMU with a Wondfo ... it was still faint! I am nervous that something is wrong. I thought the line should progressively get darker as HCG doubles every 2-3 days. I know a lot of you on here go by " a line is a line". I am trying to stay positive ... as I really have no reason to think otherwise ... but I am nervous. I have my pregnancy confirmation apt this coming Friday ... it cant come soon enough! Has this happened to anyone else? Can anyone else relate? TIA
Re: tests not getting darker as days go on - anyone else? panicking!
Try EPT digitial HPT, the test that pops up "pregnant" or "not pregnant". When I got my BFP, I peed on a line test and a digitial... digital was clear and the line was barely there.
You can try that if you are going crazy. But then wait until your doctor's appointment. The EPT test is gonna cost you around $17 or so for two tests.
I don't want to worry you, but I still think it's important to share my experience. I've had two chemical pregnancies/early miscarriages, and one of the ways that I knew something was wrong was that my tests weren't getting darker. There are certainly valid reasons for continuing to have a faint test (amount of dye in a test is one), so it doesn't necessarily mean something is wrong. But it's been my experience that tests will continue to get darker as the Hcg increases. If it were me, I would take a digital. It should pop up pregnant by now I would imagine. I would also call my doc and ask for a quantitative beta test and tell them you are concerned.
Hopefully it's just a fluke with the test!
Please please step away from the pee stick!!!!!!
I did the same thing, I read your post when I was away from home and tried to post but kept getting an error - so I am sorry for the delay.
I did the same thing and cried all last weekend. On Monday we heard a heartbeat.
Here is what I learned: HCG in your urine is not reliable. Depending on the time of day, the test and how much you have been hydrating the color of the test will vary. You CANNOT depend on the color of a test to tell you if something is wrong. The only truly reliable HCG test is a blood test.
I am 7 weeks pregnant today. I spent two days so upset last weekend, last Sat actually, I was sick, for no reason. I convinced myself I had a blighted ovum when in all reality our little bean was busy working away in there.
All the best and if it makes you feel better on Monday give your doctor a call.
T&Ps and has hard as it is, try to relax, keep yourself busy. I know it is hard
My line wasn't getting any more dark between 11 and 13 dpo, and I started freaking out a little and was told to stop peeing on things. I did, but broke down a few days later and got a nice dark, quick line. So, as PPs have said, it's not a test of anything other than HGC or not, and you won't necessarily double the line in a couple of days like that. If you're really worried, call your doc (mine told me to not worry and scheduled an appt 3 weeks later), but either way, don't stress yourself out too much *HUGS*
