Anyone on still tonight that has used cetrotide. I gave my first shot tonight, and the injection site immediately turned bright red. I now have a red, really itchy rash, with very small bumps that is about 2 inches wide. It stayed localized to the injection site, and no other side effects.
My directions say mild side effects of redness, swelling and itching and that severe side effects include a red rash. I'm thinking that this falls into the mild category, but not sure. Wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience. DH is going to wake me up when he goes to bed, which will be a few hours after me so we can check it and I have my monitoring appt in the morning so can ask. Just wondering if anyone around has any thoughts....

Oh, ice!! Thank you. I will try that to see if it helps the itchiness. It's just really uncomfortable right now! The shot didn't hurt at all, it just immediately turned red and itchy. Thanks for your reply...makes me feel better!

Thanks! Faith's rec about the ice helped a lot. The redness subsided and the itching was better before I went to bed. This morning it was completely gone. I asked my RE this morning. She said as long as the rash stays in the area of the shot, there's not much to worry about. If it gets worse, I would have to switch meds, which I really don't want to do since I've already paid for 6 days worth of cetrotide!!

I'm glad the ice helped!! Hopefully tonight's shot will be better. After the first night, I ended up icing before the shot until I felt numb. I continued icing for another few minutes after the shot. I was really surprised at my reaction to the ganirelix b/c I hadn't had any issues with any of the other meds.
Good luck with your cycle!
