I'm FB friends w/ a girl who is a preschool teacher (I don't know where). And she posts often pix of her students. I think it's cute (she obviously loves them) but I also wonder - do the parents know she does this? I know for sure I would not wany any teacher of my kids posting their pix on FB!
opinions?
Re: FBR: I think it's a little weird...
our DCP would never do this.
a) who? what? what's a mybook of facetube? they are not computer savvy at all!
b) they totally respect parent's privacy. every time there is a need for photographs, they give us a release to sign (they have occasionally had City photographers documenting an activity or program at the facility).
i would not be okay with your friend doing this if i were a parent of one of her kids, unless she had my permission first.
exactly! and I seriously doubt she has permission from all 15+ kids' parents!
The center we take DD specifically has a rule that the teachers can't take pictures of the kids, and I appreciate it.
Though I will say, I had to miss the 4th of July parade, and a teacher took a picture of DD for me. She texted it to me, but wasn't posting it online. It was more of a favor for me.
I would definitely have a big problem with this.
No, I would not like this at all. I went to a birthday party the other day and a mother there was obsessed with taking pictures of my 11 month old. She was a neighbor of the host, but it was very odd. She came....took pictures of the children...then left. I have no doubt she is a mom-tographer and will now be posting pictures of my children on some website she built. The host of the party has not even seen the pictures that were taken and she too finds it odd.
I know this is a little different than the teacher....but I think in most instances it is not OK to post pictures of children without parental permission prior.
I'm kinda wondering if I should say something to her...
Being the passive-aggressive person that I am, I would probably post a comment on her photo saying something like "wow, the kids in your class are so cute! do their parents get to see the pictures you take?" and see how she responds.
And yes - totally - not okay.
I think I'll do something like that
