I'm starting back at work next week. It's just part time a few nights a week. A typical shift will be from 6-10:30 pm. When I am at home I usually nurse DS around 8 pm and he falls asleep around 8:30. He is sleeping almost 6 hours at a time so I know that I can go that long without becoming engorged.
So my question is, should I pump on the nights that I have work? It's such a pain in the butt because I only get a 15 minute break and have to use my managers office and I'm paranoid that I'll spill breastmilk all over her desk or something. Right now my supply is pretty good and I usually get 5-6 oz combined when I pump. On work nights I will probably feed him right before I leave then pump when I get home if I decide to skip the session at work. What do you guys think, would that hurt my supply? Should I just suck it up and pump at work?
Re: Should I pump at work?
I would try to pump on your break. I know it can be a hassle, but I'm super paranoid about supply. You can also pump while driving, if you're that daring. lol
