Got spotting early on Femara???

I'm new to this site. And found out that this forum is very helpful for my situation. I usually ovulate on my own and my period in regular fr 28-30 days. I and my husband have been TTC around 3-1/2 yrs. Our both tests are normal. Our RE put me on 2 rounds of clomid (50mg then 100mg), I produced 3 good follicles on both cycle but both was fail caused I got spotting start from CD19 to CD30 then my true AF started (I ovulated on CD15). My RE said the side effect of clomid might thinning my uterine lining. Then he put me on Femara 5 mg (CD3-7). I got two big follicles and got +opk on CD13, my uterine lining was 9.5 which was great according to my RN. However, on CD17 I started spotting brownish, then pink and red until CD30 (almost 2wks) and after that i got normal AF on CD30 which is CD1 for my new cycle. I've reported my situation to my Dr. and he said he will prescribe Femara and progesterone for my next cycle which will be tomorrow 7/7/11. I'm very worried now caused as I knew that femara is better for uterine lining than clomid but how come I got spotting earlier with femara. (With clomid I got spotting start on CD19).  Correct me if I am wrong caused I'm thinking that I ovulated on my own and in adding to that with clomid and femara, so it might stimulate my ovaries or hormone then it might cause spotting??? I'm really confuse and not sure. So, has any of you have the problem like me? or do you have any advise for me? I'm very appreciated for your response.

It sounds like you're not getting all the information you feel you need from your doctor.  And, someone please correct me if I'm wrong, but I don't understand why the RE would give you Femara if you O on your own.  I know sometimes OBs give Clomid to people who O, but I was not aware of the same practice with Femara.  Also, has your RE suggested any other plan, like IUI? 

I will say that on Femara I generally spot the day or two before getting AF, but that's the only change.  It sound sto me like you would benefit from a second opinion.

I'm really appreciated for both of your input.

I got my HSG test in Aug 2010 and my both tubes were clear. I didn't get my progesterone level checked at 7dpo, so I definitly request it for this cycle. I've appt with RE on July 14, I'll discuss with him to see if he has any other option for me.

I'm starting 2 round of femara today and progesterone cream after O. Hopefully I won't get spotting anymore. Babydust to all of you.
