I was just smothering DS with kisses and realized his breath is RANK. He is FF so I guess that has something to do with it..

Anyone else? What do you do to make him not smell? I

I ebf, but right after DD arrived we had to supplement with formula for about a week and during that week her diapers and breath reeked.  After I was able to get rid of the formula the bad breath went away, so it could be that.  We had her on Enfamil, if that helps.

Is it very sour? Sour breath can be a sign of acid reflux.

are you giving him poly vi sol or some other vitamin d supplement? that has made my daughters breath stink

Hmmm. Formula breath does seem a little stinky compared to breastmilk breath, IMO. But I find that my DS's breath is sweet - I like it.

As PP have mentioned - sometimes other things can cause the bad breath --> acid reflux, sick/colds, medicines/vitamins.  I'm sure if he had reflux or was sick you would know though.

We are switching from BF to FF and I have noticed that my baby's breath smells bad as well.  We are using Similac Newborn.

We use the Sam's Club version of Enfamil Gentlease so maybe it has something to do with the gentle formula being more broken down for digestion? I have no idea. I washed his mouth out with a wet washcloth and I it helped some. I notice he gets dried formula on his tongue (it's not thrush) so maybe I will have to start wiping that clean more often throughout the day
