I have heartburn really bad, I get it from drinking water which I'm not even sure how that is possible. I had it with my DS and this time it started much earlier. Someone told me about apple cider vinegar and I have to say it really works. It's like razor blades going down but I feel it works better than tums or Zantac. Zantac works if you take as directed, 30 min prior to eating. Tums aren't working. I take about 1tsp-1tbsp. Out of everything I've tried this is the best
HERE IS WHAT TO DO: Take Pepcid over the counter or you can get it Rx and it's a little cheper. Take one in the am and one before you go to bed. Take a few tums during the day when needed. Keep Mylanta or Maalox (liquid) handy at all times (even on night stand). Every time you feel the acid come up-take a swig of it. This really helps. Also, a suggestion-if it's really bad at night and keeps waking you up-put a brick under the bed post at the head board. Stacking pillows to elevate you doesnt last long--you eventually slide back down.

Pepcid works best for me, especially if I take it right after eating something I know will make it worse!
Apple cider vinegar (Braggs-The Mother brand is the best) it aids in digestion and helps with heartburn and it is really good for you too.
Mix hot water with 2 tsp ACV and honey to sweeten!-yum Great evening drink

I take Costco's Kirkland brand acid reducer, it works better than pepcid IMO. It's cheaper too
I also second the ACV suggestion, love that stuff! I've been out for a while and I need to get more, it helps everything
