My 3.5 year old is set to go to a 2 week 9-12am first school experience today. He keeps saying, "But I don't want to go." Any suggestions for easing this transition?

"It's always good to try new things. You may find out you really like it! Think about if you NEVER wanted to try a merry-go-round. Or a pony ride. Or playing in the pool. Or visiting (local theme park; playground; friend's house). Or trying ice cream. How sad would that be to have missed out on all those great things. So you should try it a few times and THEN decide how you feel about it."
I still have a hard time getting my son to let go of me after a whole yr of school! But the one thing I found eased him (besides the love of his teachers) is me telling him he was going to make friends to pay with. My son loves other kids.
